Good drama, however, as other stated there's music unrelated to the drama that runs throughout the show that people can find distracting. Also the thumbnail doesn't actually match the actor / actress in the drama. I do enjoy a drama with sleuthing & an intelligent FL. ML is also intelligent & ❤ the FL. No abuse to the FL which I absolutely appreciate 😊.
Sad part about this is that the subtitles are incomplete and inconsistent with the real translations, so I had to check other uploads from other channels to see the missing English translations. Albeit some have translations but still not that accurate. And it really ruins the moment. Some parts are either muted or had some loud background music added. I have mixed feelings about this drama. I'm not sure if she is better off with the 9th prince (who forced her to marry him and loved her so much that he wanted to choke/kill her just to make her stay with him, after knowing she would leave) or the boyfriend (who was indecisive and doesn't have the resolve to even marry her even after 6 years). For me neither of them suits her. I was thinking she's better off with the new guy friend. Anyways, with the FL not knowing what the prince almost did to her, of course, will choose the past Prince ML. The present ML writer boyfriend (who is also somewhat 'caring', nice, protective yet also selfish - cause he would give his career more priority than her) is also not a very good choice either. When I hear the FL's name I am always being reminded of Kong QiQi as 077. She should always, as an autopsy expert, wear a mask and gloves. I'm sure the deceased smells 10x like a dead rat and the smell would be awful even as a practiced medical examiner. Her sleeves, not only her hair, would also always hinder her way. Anyways, the ML as a writer writes his fantasy, reality, hopes and dreams in his works. And his subconscious can also be portrayed there. I think it's possible that was perhaps imbued in her dreams when she was in a coma. He probably read his works to her while asleep for 2 months. And that was why she got 'sucked' inside the story. That's my interpretation on this drama. And after waking up, she hopes that the ML from the past (or story) would manifest to the present as well. But the ending will all be according to the preferences of the viewers. Actually it's a little weird cause the ML was the one who died in the story and not the FL. So why was she the one who returned after that scene where the ML was stabbed? Although we already know that after she solves the mystery, she'll return back. It was still better if she was the one who got stabbed - that's more of a plausible way for her to return.
This looks like it may be a series worth watching. Sadly, i gave up after 38 minutes..... English sub titles are behind what's being spoken, plus when they come, there are multiple lines and not enough time to read. Not worth wasting my time...

Others have commented on the background music, it is in many of these series movies, where does that come from? It wrecks it. And there are parts that have the sound missing, again it wrecks it and you don't watch it. It is too much. It is funny, but I think the men look BETTER with this long hair. Yeah, maybe cuz it is different or unusual, but I do. I find them more attractive. Esp the good-looking ones. This ML isn't really attractive, but some of the other ones are, and I think it enhances them. Strange, cuz with the man bun, the long dress, they would be considered girls today-or tyring to be girls. I like the long, black, shiny hair on both M & F. It is very pretty.
The uploaders mess around with the audio to prevent copyright strikes. You get to watch this on youtube for free because of the music being wonky. If you hate it so much, I guess you could pay to watch the show instead.
They have mini-series like these all over the world. I have been checking them out to get away from all the "woke" garbage in the USA. Yeah, it has become that bad. I am not the only one. People in my family have started watching these too. So far, we all agree that the Chinese are the best. We LOVE the time-travel, Reincarnation stuff. There was one that had a psychic and the writer was a huge disappointment cuz she didn't follow through on the great idea with using the girl's gift with military secrets she could have seen, etc. Instead, she just became a BAD CLICHE' and trapped the girl in another mansion, doing nothing but PRETENDING TO want to escape, doing nothing, taking away her one power of the psychic ability with a stupid bracelet --as if it should have depended on that (this is where we stopped watching that one). Anyway, I like the era stuff. Some of it is make-believe, like the virgin dots--lol!. But it does give a glimpse into how things have improved for women in the times since. A lot better. One thing I do want to know is WAS SHE ALLOWED TO DIVORCE LIKE THAT? Cuz that would have been such a great benefit for her back then. You could have gotten a job as a waitress or something else if you had a trade-cooking, etc. ANYTHING but going to the palace. I hope these women had a wonderful Dad like mine who taught them how to fight cuz those women in these palaces all fighting for these LOSER men of power were not only stupid, but very viscious. Their greedy families selling them like cattle for their profit. Poor dears. This has happened all over the world, AND IT STILL DOES IN SOME COUNTRIES TODAY, or trafficking them , how sad.
I’m Australian and I started watching Chinese programs nearly 3 years ago because of the crap on Australian TV. There is no going back. Loved their shows like Escape Room, Go Fighting, Who’s the Keyman unfortunately some of the earlier series which had the best cast are no longer available with Eng sub on u tube.
