I still have a pair of Gilbow Tin Shears that I bought in circa 1959 in the U.K. that I am about to refurb. they are still the original Blue.
Also I still have a pair of Footprint Tin Shears bought about the same time that I have refurbished and repainted in original Yellow.
Both are similar but have their individual differences....of the two my favourite by a very short head are the Footprints.....Both have given me heaps of pleasure as a Tradesman.
Both are right handed cut..... Any competent Sheet metal worker will knows what I am talking about

Many thanks for watching, and for sharing your experiences with these type of tools. I’m very pleased to hear that they’ve given you years of service. I like to think that I’m doing my bit to help make these tools last even longer. As a shameless plug, I’ve also done a restoration video of an old footprint wrench. Many thanks again.

Nice work , well worth keeping these things and looking after them they were there before our generation and looked after will be here long after we are gone.
Very nice work and sympathetic removal of casting marks , I’m lucky enough to own some of these myself and mine and most others iv seen are an electric blue colour however the green looks excellent.
Would like to see them cutting to demonstrate the edge geometry is spot on 😁

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I try, where possible, to be as sympathetic to my restorations as I can be. Really appreciate your feedback. 😊

Thanks for watching. In all honesty I still haven't tested them. Hopefully one day I'll use them in a future video.
