Sunland-Tujunga is a suburban neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles located by the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in the Crescenta Valley.
Though Sunland and Tujunga began as separate settlements, they are today linked through a single police station, branch library, neighborhood council, chamber of commerce, city council district, and high school and various civic organizations.
The merging of these communities under a hyphenated name goes back as far as 1928.
Sunland-Tujunga contains the highest point of the city, Mount Lukens.

For scenic route (and lots of curves in road ) take Chevy chase into Glendale from Foothill. I happened upon this route once and it was a revelation. Reminiscent of Topanga to pch or one of the other canyon roads.

On Sunland Blvd, not that far south of the freeway underpass there's a great Italian restaurant if it's still in business after all the shutdowns. Also, right after the turn onto Glendale there's a great burger place on the left, and just after passing Hollywood Way there's a great old school coffee shop called Hillstreet Cafe that I also hope survives the shutdowns.

Alas, the tree is gone, the restaurant behind it was sold a few years ago.... if it wasn't for the mattress shop just before it, I wouldn't have recognized it

I was born and raised here and I used to hate it when I was younger because If you don't have a car.. there ain't shit to do. And there's homeless tweakers everywhere. But now that I'm older, I appreciate how quiet and secluded it is.
