Yeah, I use oat milk or soya, and honestly, it really doesn't make that much of a difference. I think sweetened soya milk is probably the closest to dairy milk. The big taste difference is the cereal..

A lot of the milk options would be just fine mixed with other ingredients but not straight on their own. I.e. used for cooking and in smoothies or cakes.

Samantha S They didn't do that because it would be pointless. ALL milks taste good when incorporated into other foods. In order to taste the difference, they HAD TO drink them on their own.
I feel like in any dishes where milk is not the main ingredient can be made with dairy substitutes. But things like panna cotta, yoghurts or ice cream with dairy substitutes are gross to me. I do think rice milk is the best non-dairy option but only if you use a little, I get sick of it after drinking one glass.

Unsweetened Almond Milk tastes real good from the Blue Diamond Almomd Breeze brand. Silk almond milk (both sweetened and unsweetened) tastes gross imo. Depends on the brand and has to be unsweetened for my tastes.

I drink rice milk, oat milk, soy milk and coconut milk. I never ever have dairy because I'm (I guess) vegan :)

What's amazing is there is so much other types of plant based milk too. They havent tried them all! Oat milk, hemp seed milk, hazelnut milk, walnut milk, pea milk, and more that probably I dont even know about! Its cool to see how creative we can make our food. I personally really like flax milk and regular almond milk. Walnut milk is good too

Yeah exactly. Although I've recently been drinking the Innocent Coconut Milk and it's really nice, probably my favourite out of all of them. I will agree that it is the one that's most like cows milk. I'm vegetarian at the moment but I really want to be vegan. Working towards it by drinking and eating more plant-based things. Finding it hard to give up cheese though.

Coconut milk is my favorite since I learned I was lactose intolerant! And what's amazing is putting it in coffee! I always get Starbucks coffee with coconut milk in it it's so good 💕

Barnacle Silk has an unsweetened original, which is what I like to use. There's also an unsweetened vanilla, sweetened vanilla, and sweetened original. They also have "light" versions. Sometimes I go crazy and get the chocolate almond milk.

I only drink the regular and vanilla and to be honest I think unsweetened tastes disgusting, lol. One time I bought unsweetened to try it out. I had to manually add sugar to get myself to finish the whole carton! But I love almond milk so much. Plain is a little disgusting though.

Which is the least sustainable one after dairy, at least speaking of ones with a non-tiny almond percentage, as almond crops need a lot of water.

I just switched from almond milk to cashew milk and i love it! It's so thick and creamy and it looks more like cow milk than almond milk does. If you don't think you'll like creamy milk i don't recommend. Its so yummy in cereal milkshakes.

nah, you're not the only one. I love the chocolate almond milk so I dont feel im missing out on my chocolate milk, and I have the sweetened vanilla I use for coffee/tea/cereal or just a small cup of milk. I have severe issues in trying to drink pasturized cows milk, so I've been drinking almond milk as an alternative. No more upset stomach

I know right. I'm not vegan as well, but soy milk is very nice. It has a creamy and a bit of a nutty taste. Cow milk just tastes weird to me. As for coconut milk, I prefer it being cooked in some rice to make a really nice 'Nasi Lemak'.

Did you give them sweetened or unsweetened? Vanilla or original? I only buy unsweetened original almond milk. I don't drink milk straight up from a glass however, I just put in in cereals/smoothies and use it for baking.

The thing about choosing to buy nondairy milks is that it is actually great for the planet and for the animals, not because they taste better than cows milk.

Not all milk substitutes are great for the planet. Some cause deforestation and poisoning of the lands with chemicals to make plant x and y grow on grounds where they naturally wouldn't survive or thrive very poorly. Some also have to travel excessively far to be brought to you and thus, cause massive pollution. Gotta check the whole thing.
Some of them actually taste better than cows milk. It's like dessert in glass lol

Almond milk sweetened with dates and vanilla is so tasty! I make my own at home sometimes and it's great!
I love unsweetened almond milk it helped reduce my bad cholesterol and weight loss and I don't feel as bloated when I drink dairy milk.
Coconut milk is like my go to since I'm lactose intolerant, its so goooood!
rice milk tastes the best. the best nutrition wise is ripple milk.
My favorites are rice, coconut and oats. Rice milk for cooking as it tastes so neutral, Coconut milk for fruit smoothies (nutty tastes in fruit smoothies are gross) and oat milk to drink plain or with chocolate. The little chocolate oatly boxes are amaaaazing.

Coconut milk is pretty awesome. Get the canned Asian brands and dilute them with plain water to get the right consistency. The health food store versions often have added sugars etc, so get the canned stuff from Asian grocery stores and read the label. Sometimes Latin groceries have good stuff too!

Just found out I have high cholesterol so it’s been a little hard for me to transition from regular milk to non dairy. I’ve tried almond milk and soy milk but I wasn’t a fan, so i’m excited to try coconut milk and rice milk! Wish me luck!
I highly suggest that you try making your own milks at home if you are currently buying all your milk alternatives from the stores. you can more easily get your prefered textures and flavors better.

They would only show a part of a happy cow in the grass and pretend as if thats how all their cows are being raised! Just saying there is a lot of video proof and facts about what "really" goes down in the industry!

Oat milk is the best, you should've tried it. A swedish manufacturer (Oately) made an "old fashioned" version a while back that tastes just as regular full fat milk, especially when served in warm drinks/milkshakes.
