    I just got the pedals. I have used the Simped Vario pro usb, CH and Saitek pedals. Crosswinds are by far the best one I ever used or tried. Slaws and Baur are full metal but not even close so adjustable and comfortable (and Crosswinds are much cheaper than those two). Milan is a great guy and he will help every and each of his customers anytime. He deserves all the praise.

    A couple of friends got me a set of these a little over a year ago, one of the best Christmas presents I have ever received! I regularly use them for Star Citizen, DCS World, and a custom profile in GTA V. I have even set them up as gas and brake pedals in a couple of driving sims. They are totally worth it, high quality, smooth operating, and comfortable.

    Love these pedals. They've made it worth going back to an actual flight profile with yaw on the pedals. Toe brake options while in flight are available to re-bind however you want so that even with a cheap (use just T--Flight HOTAS X myself) I bound it in a way that allows me to have intuitive 6DOF. Eventually will upgrade that but now I'm in no particular hurry to do it. Went back to left-right joystick being roll and quit fighting my atmospheric flight bias. I am happy with it and looking forward to seeing how this will work with the new flight model but I think it can only get better.

      one year ago there already were better pedals on the market, hell the Thrustmaster TPR were already available when this video was made. Crosswinds are good, but pendular motion with no axial movement on the pedals, much better sensor and all metal construction makes Thrustmaster way better option at similar price and much better availability.

    I own those. I have not possessed other premium quality pedals before, so I can't say they are the absolute best. But I can confirm everything you said. They are rock-solid, very adjustable/customizable and easy to setup and use. I never regretted buying them and still enjoy using them with SC and flight sims.

    Great review. I just bought the Crosswind v3 set, along with the damper, and can't wait to hook them up. I'm checking out every review I can find, mostly for tips and tricks. I've been using a cheap set of pedals, flying GA aircraft in MSFS for about a year now. I plan to start learning rotaries, and these pedals seem like they'll work pretty well for both typs of aircraft. I've been ignoring my DCS aircraft as I'm spending a lot of time in FS2020. But Microsoft doesn't allow fuctional weapons, and I'm starting to get the itch to blow things up again. 😛 The last time I flew a jet in DCS I used my TM16000 twist joystick. This should...ahem...improve things a bit.
    Your video is very straightforward with no fluff. I like that. Liked and Subscribed.
    By the way...NICE WATCH!

    I think that you've given a fair review here. I've had V1's for about 5 years now. Great pedals! I also fly IRL and their response is very similar to real rudder pedals.
    Mine are placed directly on the floor & my only slight gripe was the need to find a way to stop them sliding across the carpet, but winding the screws in the wall block parts right out did the trick. I also like the fact you can rotate the pedals to have a steep angle. This means my heels are only a few cms from the carpet and my feet are at a 50 degree angle, which keeps my calves stretched and more comfortable over long periods of use.
    Would I buy another pair - without hesitation! Thing is, I'm very unlikely to need to do that as they are so well made.

    The wider foot pedal range of this thing alone, makes me want it.
    I use the plastic thrustmaster pedals, and they are almost uncomfortably close together.
    None of the planes I've flow have them that close.
    If I get to the point I'm using them in Star citizen, I'll give these another serious look.

  • @fubarace1027
    @fubarace1027 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like these tech reviews you are doing. The sticks, throttles, rudders, and trackIR are all perfect areas for you to review. While I do enjoy the individual review videos of focused on a single product, I do hope moving forward you get enough support from the individual companies to allow you to do head to head comparisons.
    I was planning to get TrackIR very soon (and use the discount offered in your review, thank you for that!), and was looking ahead to the next purchase, which needs to be pedals. I'm currently using dual T16ks with the TM FCS throttle as well (which is a surprisingly good/useful product for the amount of money I spent on it, might be worth a review from you as well), so the first step if I want to eventually move up to one of the premium flight sticks is settling the rudders. I don't like the idea of using the alternate rudder pedals on my throttle as so active a control, so I need rudders.
    The 4 high end rudders are the VKB Rudders, the MFD Crosswinds, the new Thrustmaster setup, and the Viper. This order also happens to be their order of cost, VKB: @$220, Crosswinds @ $360, The new Thrustmaster set at $550, and the Vipers for $700ish. Personally I don't see going all in on pedals as the only difference (I'm told) is fidelity, and the VKB doesn't have toe-brakes, so I'm leaning towards the VKB. A comparison between the high end gear here from you would be awesome if you can manage to get the companies to hook you up.
    As an aside, Thrustmaster at E3 showed some of their new products in their fresh focus from car sim gear to flight gear. They showed a new FA-18 replacement stick for the warthog, a USAF licensed headset, and the new pedals. In an interview the spokesman for the company made it sound like their would be something for the throttles as well, though I have no idea what he has in mind. Their plan is to focus on individual DCS modules and offer authentic pieces for each plane. I know VKB, is licensed with Heatblur to make an F-14 stick for their Gunfighter II base to support Heatblur's new F-14A/B module for DCS. Possibly more good stuff coming for all of us!

    I got the BRD-F3, with both SU27 and BF109-F Einheitspedale. It's a full metal construction with rivets, and is certainly the very best set out there - better than the MFG Crosswinds. Unfortunately, they are no longer available, as the guy got hired to another company and moved away from Sochi. The MFG Crosswind now are the best on the market. If you want to get high quality pedals, get these.

I paid 257 EUR for BRD-F3 on today's price (279 EUR in Dec 2017), with both kinds of pedals included... it's 1 EUR more. *shrugs* Anyway, the Crosswinds are amazing as well. And the BRD-F3s are not available anymore anyway. MFG Crosswinds = best available to buy.

    • @gnomisa
      @gnomisa 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrCatlolz Depends which type od slaw and BRD...maybe basic. Then again for EU buyers the VAT and shipping is crazy expensive additional cost...Also there is no store so the buyer is left with google translate communication with makers via forum PMs. No, thanks. Mr. Milan, the maker of MFGs is very responsive, he gives 2yrs of limited warranty and is very fast in responding via email. Usually he is very attentive so he will do everything to help his customers and he is constantly improving his pedals so now we have MFG V2 which has better electronics and more durable materials and springs.

    Decent pedals but not great. If you don't fix them in place, don't even bother, and same goes for Virpil pedals. TM are the best for non cockpit users that can put them against the wall, if not VKB is the way. You don't need wheel breaks axes, you have more room under the desk, and rudder axes does not push the unit away.

      I returned my MK4 pedals. Didnt like unrealistic up and down movement and they arent so customizable and they are pretty narrow. Also they squeak, knock and boing all over the place after some time (unless you lubricate them with silicone spray). Recently VKB is adding rubber tube over spring so "boing" is less. MFGs are fantastic.
