    I have recently bought Roland E-30, the enhanced and upgraded E-20 with double the sounds and more stock styles and other things. I have to say I didn't expect it to be this good.

    I remember the first time I checked out an E20 when it was released in 1988 and I was very impressed with the accompaniment styles. Saying that, Technics also had some nice arranger keyboards out at the time such as the SXEA7 and KN800. A friend of mine had a Technics K700 that had some great sounds and accompaniments but it was let down by a non touch sensitive keyboard and no pitch bend or modulation wheels or joystick.

      Hello the E-30 I’ve recently salvaged has on board the same facilities as the E-20/sound chip linear arithmetic. The difference with the E-30, it provides 64 extra sounds immediately accessible via group a and group B. It also has on-board an extra easy eight music styles and one or two other features. The extra easy eight music styles are originally found on a separate music style card compatible with E-20 and other similar models. Though such technology is dated, it is very very good but it was expensive back in the day. I understand, the E 20 and the eventual arrival of the E 30 were well over £1000 UK currency to purchase. The E 30 I recently salvaged, the man was selling for £220 though he accepted 200 in the end which is absolutely fine and again, I’m not parting with it as to it is sentimental and in my opinion, a fantastic instrument for its time as are the other models in this range including E 20.

      @bestrickie2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’d also love the E 30 as it is predominantly based on the E 20 but has a lot more features including an extra 64 sounds giving a total of 128 sounds that can be found immediately in group a and group B.

    Somebody in my local marketplace on Facebook posted this today for free. I jumped at it. Having said that they said that it was working when I took it apart they took it apart cuz they had a couple stuck and after they put it back together they couldn't get it to quite work again. They also said they weren't very tech-savvy so I'm hoping it's a simple fix. I also need a power cord for it

    I’m assuming that’s all 64 sounds on board. I’d love to hear the extra 64 as on the E-30 there’s instant access to all 128 sounds including A couple of extra bass sounds, one with some good dynamics and there is another slow stream affect which is absolutely brilliant and as I say, I think these are all hidden on the Roland pro E.

    Hello, what is the subtle difference between activating the sounds with that device you are using and activating the sounds by the on-board switches? It’s a good old vintage keyboard synthesiser and I have in the last few days bought a Roland E-30 which was originally released back in 1990. It is the same linear arithmetic sound chip/sound engine but the E 30 has on board 64 extra sounds that can be accessed with groups a and B. Group B, there are 64 sounds group B holds an extra 64 sounds. Many of these extra sounds are found in both bank A and Bank B/group a group B which ever you want to call it. There is an excellent slow string which is one of the extra sounds found on the E 30, a couple of extra-base sounds and other. There is also A few other extra features including an easy eight extra lots of accompaniments which are very good as well. I once owned an E 30 but in recent years, I sincerely regretted selling it so therefore, I am extremely delighted I have got it again and this one is in very very good condition hardly used..

    • @AGDugros
      @AGDugros  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello is not possibile to access to bank B directly on-board. You need to send a MIDI program change via an external input like this or a PC or another keyboard that can send MIDI program change.

    • @bestrickie2
      @bestrickie2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AGDugros That would be very disappointing to just have the keyboard on its own and not be able to access the other group. I certainly never knew that though it’s got an excellent sound. As mentioned, I recently salvaged the E 30 which I can access both groups A and B for all 128 on-board sounds which are fantastic though very dated now as to I own modern keyboards as well. What else can this device do as well as access the extra sounds? Therefore, is that right, on-board the keyboard alone, you can only access 32 sounds or is there 64 all in group A? As you may know, a lot of these sounds if not all of them descend from the D series synthesisers. oh yes, you play very nicely and I will do some TH-cam videos surrounding my stunning Roland E 30. Please visit me here on TH-cam and subscribe as I have uploaded a few multi track music demos with videos though some are going to be modernised. Talking of the Roland arranger keyboards, I once owned a Roland E 5 which were very good, I sold that years ago then bought the E 30 which I eventually sold but I regretted it hence why I have managed to salvage another E 30 and I am not repeat not parting with it this time.

    Hello you play very nicely on that old vintage keyboard. I’ve coincidentally just bought a Roland pro E for a good price including postage and packaging off eBay and it has 64 extra sounds hidden and as you say and others have said you need a midi changer. I have heard if I plug it via midi to another midi keyboard with five pin din it should automatically work but I don’t know how true that is if you have to change channels and everything. I used to own a Roland E-30 which has on board directly these extra 64 stunning sounds as well as the original stunning sounds (linear arithmetic) I really like. I have no real knowledge of external midi so I’d love if someone could help me to salvage the extra sounds on board the pro E that I have just bought. I own one of two other keyboards including a stunning Genos which also has the midi ports on it and is a very modern flagship stunning model of keyboard.

    • @AGDugros

      You can use a computer with a midi interface and a DAW like Cubase, Logic or Reaper. But you can also use Camelot pro ( iPad or PC) in this fantastic software you can menage all midi parameters.

      @@AGDugros thanks I wonder if it will work with GarageBand iOS. Of course I’d have to get a midi five pin fin cable with USB as I think you or someone else said. Was that all the 128 sounds you demonstrated? I noticed on my stunning E.30 I proudly owned years ago it had onboard extra slow strings, extra base sound with dynamics and other sounds I didn’t appear to notice in your demonstration. The sounds you demonstrated are excellent and aim familiar with from your stunning E-20 as also many of these featured on the E-30.

      @@AGDugros hello thanks. I’m trying to find someone with knowledge who’d be willing to assist me set up the Pro E via midi. I’ve tried to contact Roland, they are USELESS don’t even h offer an over the phone service. I try to go to their website, fill in a form explaining my enquiry including the model but it keeps cancelling. I understand if I connect the Pro E to another 5 pin din music keyboard, maybe having to set channels it might activate the extra sounds. Not only that, as the Pro E doesn’t have many octaves, I largely want to play the keys on my 76 note Yamaha Genos to activate the sounds, backing from Pro E.

    Hello again. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned I finally managed to salvage a Roland E 30 which hosts the full 128 voices immediately accessible via bank A and bank B and yes, that is an extra 64 sounds giving a total accessibility of all 128 sounds meaning, 64 in group A and another 64 in group B. There are eight extra accompaniments on it called easy eight as well as other features. I’m not parting with it this time as I owned an E 30 years ago and regretted selling it.
