But which to get? I can get either for a similar price but am not sure which is best for touring with dirt roads thrown in.

@@Bob-Maplethorpe Personally I am a big dude. I am just shy of 6.5 and about 230. Long legs. The 1090R I honestly feel like they designed the bike for me. Only real comfort modifications was handle bar risers.. The 790 is a beautiful bike in it's own way. It will technically go off road better than the 1090. But honestly it is really how well can you ride and how hard. The 1090r is no slouch it will Hoon like a BAMF! It was easy for me because of the size. Also the extra power. Plus it looks better. I purchased the bike used from KTM with 176 miles on it because the previous owner was short and returned it. Walked out for 11800 after taxes.. Any more question feel free to ask!

@@98durangopack so we are about the same size. I am just a bit over 6'4" with long legs, but have a bit of weight to lose at 260!)
I am looking at either a 1090 or a 1290 here in Ontario, Canada. I can get a nice 1290 R for $12 400, and the 1090 would go for maybe $11 000. I like the look and simplicity of the 1090 better, but am still on the fence.

@@Bob-Maplethorpe Funny thing is I absolutely love the 1090R but a part of me kinda wants the SAR 1290, mainly the dash/cluster.. integrated cruise control.. obviously more power.. even thoe the 1090 is pretty impressive.

I love mine as well. I really appreciate the more bare bones approach. I know others may disagree and want the TFT, cornering abs etc but that wasn't for me. Its powerful, runs really well on and off-road and sounds amazing.

I'm 6'1 and my 1290 fits me great. The only thing I would change is an actual key instead of a fob. Motor is amazing. It's a supernaked on stilts. With minor mods it will pull your arms apart when accelerating, which is a thing.

Your regurgitating old videos. Is the move to amazon prime not working or are you trying to drum up viewers?

James Hind amazon prime won’t be going live until December. We have done this because we have been ask again and again to make our videos more accessible, so people can just find the bike review or interview quickly without having to find out which episode it was originally in. So in listening to our viewers this is what we did.

ADVENTURE BIKE TV Fair enough, I do agree that your test/reviews did make it hard to find a specific bike.

We probably could have done it in a better way too. Slow release them

Why don't you do some real review work and maybe actually weigh the bikes instead reciting factory claimed dry weights. The minute I hear people spouting dry weights I tune out.
