Hi there! That is a discussion you should have with your instructor, but if you are already jumping verticals it is really easy to set up a small oxer and go from there. Horses tend to jump ramped oxers quite well and they have to jump square oxers bigger than a vertical set at the same height.
Great question! If that's the closest then you might have to give it a chance and see if it's doable. I have personally found that it is fine for a short time but that drive can wear on you after several months. With that being said there is one person where I work who drives an hour one way to get to the barn about 5 days a week. I asked her how she does it and she says she tries not to think too hard about it and uses it as her "me time" and generally listens to her favorite podcasts or audio books during the drive to make it better.

I live in a city, and every barn around me is more than an hour drive. Is that okay??
