I love it when every day there are three games. I don't watch anything else for about a month. Then there are the Olympics.
England with the squad they got should go far but they're like the Tottenham of International football. Southgate doesn't trust some of his most talented players enough for them to go far. As for outside shout I think the Netherlands are ones to look at. But Germany have started playing better and it's in their home country so it would be fun to see them go far.

@@mike04574 I don't really take friendlies right before the Euros as something to judge the teams on. Teams have lost and drawn in friendlies and gone far in the comp. Teams have also won their friendlies and not performed well in comps.
The reason England doesn’t win anything is because none of them play outside the premier league. It’s obvious they can’t adapt to the opponents tactics. Bellingham is going to show absolute class as will Kane.
as much as germany is back on form and theyre at home... its euros host nation always gets far but falls short and it was Germany who started the host nation Euro curse, however if theres someone who can break it I guess its them (maybe they only started the curse because their country at the time was divided between West and East Germany

But you can be stopped with a disciplined low block and heavy pressing.
You lack the mental strength to get over the line when the pressure is on or respond when you're a goal down.
A lot of useless passes and long shots when you're chasing a game.
Example: World Cup qualifiers against Ireland and Serbia.
And the defeat to Morocco at the World Cup.

They waffle a bit inconsequentially and then pick the favourites as top 8 teams for quarters with no consideration for form, quality of analysis, manager etc etc. Your vid is a lot better though. I think you didn't notice it... Matty Cash is not on the list of players that will go to euros and play for Poland. He had injury problems + the coach Probierz is not very convinced by him so far. It's been a big topic of debate for the last few days in Poland.
Would be a shame. That's the only Polish player an English commentator will be confident of being able to pronounce without making a mistake. 😄

Just FYI as I have seen this mistake elsewhere. Koeman doesn't start with Weghorst he is an impact sub. Depending on fitness, opponent and if 3 or 2 up top it can change. First choice is Depay though.

Im Romanian and I can say we did have an easy qualifying group and I think the Swiss just stunk it up to come 2nd. We wont be easy to score on but its how much attacking opportunities we can create. Dennis Mann and Mihaela both got promoted with Parma and are good talents but its a pretty balanced group to be able to advance from. I'll be at the game in Munich vs Ukraine cant wait!

You're right about Romania. We got lucky with a very easy group and Israel war, but we did put up a fight and we shall do it again, but fell short in the end due to certain areas where the quality is just not for this level and also low creativity but indeed the D looks solid and some very good gks, Moldovan is one of the main reasons we are here. Portugal could go well, but don't see Ronaldo as regular, I know he's the legend but common semi-pro arab defenders pfff... just another level, i think he has not got much to offer, but plenty of quality to cover for this potential weakness, so I see Portugal going to top-4 easily. regarding the winner it's probably between France and England but experience, manager and winning mentality speaks for les Bleus, but it will be very close.

I’m half German, so I root for USA and Germany. Most people would consider Germany better than Portugal. But since 2015, Portugal has had much more international success. It’s just bc Germany has more history. But both sides are looking to turn the page in my opinion and step into their new identities. I’m excited for Vitinha and Leal.

As a Portuguese person, I feel like with the squad they have, anything but semifinals is unacceptable. Unless they match up against England or France, finishing before the semis is a disappointment.

I don't understand why Portugal are only place 5th or 6th favourite. For me they are 2nd only to England.
England has the best squad overall. The amount of players who have scored and assisted a lot this season is crazy (Kane, Palmer, Bellingham, Foden, Watkins) and the great players otherwise (Trent, Rice, Grealish, Walker...) means that they have the strongest squad by a margin. Yes goalkeeper, left back and center back are not great but good enough to be confident. But Southgate doesn't convince me at all that he can do it (I'm french btw) and some of his choices like not playing TAA that much or keeping Pickford and Maguire in the starting XI are really weird. But still they are n°1 favourite.
But Portugal have such a strong squad aswell. No real weak position which is great, though on the other end they have fewer world class players than England or France. But still, with Dias, Cancelo, Jota, Leao, etc. They have a great squad and play together really well.
Many people seem to put France as favourite and I don't understand why. At center back Konaté and Upamecano are out of form leaving only Saliba (who Deschamps hasn't used a lot) as a top player in form, at right back Koundé is good but not world class nor in great from, and in midfield Rabiot-Tchouaméni is nothing special.
Finally Giroud is really past his best and could really struggle this summer.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but at this point I can't see us getting further than the quarter finals.
I think Portugal has the most complete squad behind France, not a single weak position. Behind those two come Spain, then England in my mind, who both have a few minor weak spots.

In the past that's a guaranteed must-win game. But now its not. Even more so if they have a mixed result with 3 points. All they need is a draw to guarantee qualification.
It would be different if 2/6 3rd place team go through but its most of the, 4/6. Also, there's no guaranteed benefit of getting 2nd instead of 3rd cause you're either in a group that lets say if you get 2nd get to face a group winner. Or you might be in a group that guarantees you to face another 2nd placer.

@domenicdaluz Exactly Portugal have the talent to go on to win the tournament but tbh frm their euro win in 2016, Portugal have consistently been mediocre for the talent they have and the hype around them. They suffered a ro16 exit in the 2022 wc, euro 2020 was a ro16 exit, quarter final exit 2022 wc and from 016 to now they only won nations league, which isnt that impressive in my eyes. The funny thing is also the team that won the euros in 2016 is nowhere near as good as the team Portugal has now, or even from the 2020 euros and 22 wc, and yet they haven't won let alone made the semis of any of these tournaments
