I have found letting the fruit fully mature is key especially for citrus. The flavors are (better) very different from store brought citrus. Limes fully yellow, meyer lemon fully orange, pink lemonade no green, more of a pink hue. Moro blood orange to almost purple but will fall off quicker. Pink lemonade when fully ripe, do taste "grapefruity" without the tartness, lol.
I got one of these this year! Good to know they need a little extra sun. It's currently in a pot but I want to find a good spot in the yard for it. I am in Florida. The restrictions seem to vary, maybe by zip code, but I was able to get one in NE FL. I got mine from Stark Bros.

Great! Good to hear you were able to order it from out of state. I've seen mixed things about that too.
Mine is not variegated but the fruit itself is red in colour on the skin
