Ancient puzzle rings* quite the difference
And what is the point of low-level Ethereals? if you get them on a character below level 70, then the things themselves will be below level 70. purely for the collection?
Advanced upgrade for those with Time to get more out for every Class.
Get another 8+ GoE - Craft yourself the following and reduce the requirment to lvl 1 =)
Gloves+Head = Sage -> A lot of Mainstats
Pants+Belt+Boots = Crimson
Breast + Shoulder + Weapon = Borns
With this you dont even need a RorG.
Or use it and take a proper. 2h Weapon
@@lordbalbero348 Hey perfect idea man. I’d rather use my ancient puzzle rings on T16 for gold and gems. But rather then wasting time doing normal vaults on T16, we can follow your recommended leveling set (only reroll mainstat on the items when swapping gear between different classes), then just ding to level 10 or whenever ethereal start dropping, and power level to 50-60 in vaults. If you don’t get all 3 delete the character, repeat. Finally a use for normal vaults besides day 1.

after reading a few of the comments, I think it's a good idea to clarify: this is not a technique to farm a particular ethereal to use throughout the season, but rather a technique to efficiently farm all 21 ethereals, to get the feat-of-strength acheivement, and unlock the transmogs for use after the season ends
It still seems awfully hard for an average player to collect all 21.

@@eugenijusdolgovas9278 I played season 22 for roughly 40hrs in barb; I had dozens of puzzles rings, 8 ancient, and 3 primal.
Using this strat it's gonna be cake to farm the ethereals.
@@DunkaDunka330 Well you can use puzzle rings too; which in season 22 I had so many I got sick of running vault. Also, it's only for the classes you don't play - so if you wanted to try a new build then you don't need to farm for that class.
i've noticed when leveling up through nephs that monsters dont take my NEW level into consideration until leaving the floor. maybe the same is happening here so that you have that "pre-30" loot table the entire vault?
I picked up my first ethereal last night when i started the new season. Got it off Skeleton King in adv mode at like lvl 10 or something. Thing is pumped with juicy goodness for a low level thats for sure.
Got one too at level 8.its ridiculous.. Broke the game for me

Try it on t6 with normal Puzzle Ring. Start a new Char and get Level 9 and then let a friend kill the fat Lady. And then u should be fine cause the loot pool ist that low that only leorics crown and ethterals will drop

something I've been doing to test ethereal drops is I leveled a lod gem to 30, then craft a helfire ammy and ring. it has the advantage that you get a ton of power from the get-go, which scales as you start getting leggo drops. Also, you don't level as fast as you do with the gem of ease, on the lower levels, which is better for what we're trying to do
I would refrain from using a hellfire ring due to the huge XP multiplier. The longer you can drag out lower levels, the better. Just keep remaking low level characters and farm elites as needed.

Yeah I wouldn't craft HF ring. You need to slow down progress as much as possible.

after 20 puzzle rings i got 0 eth items. new char after each run (he is 35 then)

That is assuming you don't get any duplicate Ethereals, which you know you will get some.

Just completed it, here’s what I did. Farm max blood shards on main, spend all shards at Kadala on a 31 WD, keep going until you have at least 12-15 puzzle rings, make a new character level them to 5 on normal with a lvl 70 weapon with gem of ease, use a gem of ease on illusory boots so you can run straight through the enemies in the vault without killing anything, change difficulty to T2, pop a puzzle ring and kill greed which will get you 1-2 ethereals and to level 8-9, change difficulty to T6 then pop another puzzle ring kill greed and youll get another 1-2 ethereals and it’ll level you to 14-16. Then you make anew character and keep doing that method until you get the 3 ethereals for each class.
This has either been fixed, or something is missing from the video. Some people mention ancient ring, but i dont ever hear him say specifically ancient ring, and you never see the ring the guy uses to open the portal. Tried it exactly as described with regular puzzle ring, no dice. Tried the other suggestions, level 5 toon, illusory boots, dont kill anything except greed at end, no dice. Also, i had 18 puzzle rings total, zero ancient.
I think the people complaining that this strat is unreasonable obviously have not played a build that speeds through GR90+.
Any decent build will do a GR90 in 2mins total - opening the gr to closing. That's 30gr/hr. You get up to 12legendaries at GR90+. That's 360 legendaries guys - you're telling me you don't expect a single puzzle ring out of 360 drops?
You're going to average 1-2/hr, and an ancient every 3-4hrs. You can casually get the puzzle rings needed within 2weeks of season - 1 week of getting your main to speed GR90, and one week of running it for augments (which you'll be doing anyway). That's 30ish hours max - 2hrs a night.

no he needed the lvl 70 guy to come in and use his puzzle ring as rax didnt have any left. that is the ONLY reason his friend joined

I'm not a big Diablo 3 fan but I've been playing just because I'm so excited for Diablo 2 resurrected, I've kind of just been blindly playing whatever, I've already gotten the crossbow and longbow for the demon hunter by the time I was lvl 20 by doing normal difficulty rifts
Best way I found to do this was speed running GRs with my main exit out, have a pre-made level 31 character spend the shards for smaller ring drop pool, drop the rings in the stash, exit out, then level a character to 5 on Torment 3 and use a puzzle ring. You will only go up to level 9 when you kill Greed so you can run him twice with the same character. Once I got my Main speed running T14 GRs and my level 31 Kadala ring farmer it took about 14 hours of gameplay to farm all the Ethereals. I forgot to mention you need a gem of ease cubed pig sticker for your level 5 character.

Let's be honest here,.... There's no real point to get all the ethereal. Diablo 2 ressurected will come out before s24 even ends, and we know that 70% at LEAST will migrate away.

People like Rax dont realise that we dont play a season for 18 hours a day every day from start to finish. We would be lucky to see 2/3 ancient puzzle rings in a season.
I tried twice on 8/11 & 8/12 and it DID NOT WORK. My puzzle rings or just plain puzzle not ancient and no sockets
U failed to mention to have an ancient/primal ring... thats not a normal... also not sure what the point is wouldn't all the eth be yur lvl... and if someone says the 70s still in the game... but then what's the point of him letting u kill everything literally the stupidest video ever... would never use this method

There's an achievement for collecting all 21 etherals for their transmogs in the future. This wasn't to get level appropriate etherals.

I'd modify the approach a bit.
Take a 2hd ancient sword/axe with vit and mainstat, and remove lvl requirement with the gem of ease in the cube instead.
So you won't get xp gain from the gem of ease.
You can use it on 6 classes (except DH), just reroll mainstat.
I got ethereal at lvl 5...so yea. Why are there so many gobs? Normally there is only 2 per area...OH its PTR...lol no wonder.

Since GOE gives XP and you don't want that XP after lvl 14 it might be better to throw your lvl 70 weapon and the GOE together in the cube after you get to lvl 14. That way your weapon is useable but doesn't grant any extra XP.

Ya, but low level ethereals have terrible damage and stats. Anything below 70 is pretty terrible.

what's the advantage of doing the puzzle rings at a lower level vs doing them at 70? Or is this just to get all the ethereals without gearing your character? I'm assuming if I just wanna play barb next season, to just play as I would normally?
If I recall correctly, ethereal drop rates are exponentially higher at lower levels and steadily drop off between 11 to 30, then tank to their normal 1/100 drop rate between 31-70. After two months though I'm guessing you're most likely aware of this though haha

Well you need a level 25 gem of ease at least. So that's a grift 30-35. So that means being level 70 for a little bit. Granted, won't have the near volume he had put in, but it shouldn't matter too much. Honestly, I'd say just play normally on one, and when you get a decent ancient that can be used by multiple classes, hard affix the gem of ease to it and pass it around.
I mean, I'm usually paragon 800 within 24 hours of the season start....so it's not that unrealistic

@@blakearmentrout7717 To be fair, I play a lot in the first 24 hours. Getting to 70 takes 3-4 hours for the average person, 5-6 hours if you're a bit slower. Then you focus on finishing the season journey to get your six piece set. Then you start pushing the highest greater rifts that you can, that's where the paragons come from.

if anyone still grinding this out. kill the puzzle ring boss at lvl 8 and you get 1-2 eth for every ring you use
Spend blood shards on rings with a WD at level 31. You get tons of puzzle rings. Make a level 25 gem of ease cube it with a weapon to remove the level req and bonus xp. Roll a charter get to level 5 on game on normal and farm greed. 3 vaults should do it

The cow level is super easy, just use your shard to buy polemens and then upgrade your rare until you get a Bonvine Bardiche, then take that to the cube and extract.

I did like this. Farm bloodshards on main character, make a lvl 31 character and buy rings from Kadala. Hope to get a few puzzles and send them to the stash. Then make a lvl 5 character with a 70 waepon and gem of ease, use the puzzle rings on Torment 6 at lvl 5. Run all the way to greed without killing anything except greed. Dropped 2 ethereals for like 80-90% of the times i killed him, the rest 10% only 1. Rinse and repeat. Im done with all classes about 2 weeks ago.

So if you got 12 in 1 ancient puzzle ring. We would need 2 Ancient puzzle rings on live for 1 primal? sounds easy if Ancient puzzle rigns were easy to get. Am i missing something here?
sounds like you're missing something. "primals" are a rarity, "ethereals" are an item in your loot table. by doing this at lower level, you're limiting how many items are in your loot table to include MORE ethereals, and the puzzle ring (ancient vault) is a place where you're guaranteed some drops.
to get an ethernal
You can always re-roll regular puzzle rings to ancient ones.
12 in 1 ancient puzzle ring on PTR (!!!). On live servers you might get one or even none.

This way might be the fastest for acquiring specifically Ethereals but it is one of the least efficient ones in terms of time spent.
when I open vault I only see 1-2 of those monsters dropping gold etc you had like 20 of them lol no wonder you got ethereals
It works better if you use an ancient puzzle ring to open the portal... Though obviously, getting those is a bit harder.

Same as any other legendary drops. There is a CHANCE to get another class's ethereal but is very very small chance.
Season 24 thorn ethereal weapon is still non-existent...not looking forward to play this season either as Blizzard ignores Invoker Set and thorn legendaries and now ethereals as well, as if thorn damage set for Crusader does not exist. I am hoping they will buff the Redeemer with 450 thorns, thorns are dealt 350% faster, 50% block chance reduces damage taken by the same amount, 100,000 life per hit.
Sorry, but this is BS. First of all, in the test realm all etherals and legendaries are dropping easier. Secondly I played in S23 up to P1300 and I havent had one single puzzle ring - not even mentioning an ancient one where u have the 10000000000000000 of gobos.
You'd need to forge ancient rings to have a chance. No way you're collecting enough.

level 11 is best, with riftlocking. get your game together :)

How are you starting a seasonal character with paragon points, gold, and access to all stuff in chest???
It's his second season character.
In my view the easiest way of getting all the ETH weapons is the level 11 T6 normal nephs farming. U need a level 11 Character, open a game on T6 and invite a friend. Then leave the game and the group and re join it with a lvl 70 char. Now you can run the T6 locked at lvl 11 until you have all 3 ETHˋs. Another Method is to invite a friend (lvl70) to your lvl 1 characters group and throw in a puzzle ring. If u are lucky, u might get one or two ETHˋs. With these two methods I’ve almost collected all. Only 2 are left. Hope I’ve helped you guys and good luck. 🍀

Kinda didn't read the season notes and just decided to finally do my softcore playthrough with a wizard to unlock adventure and got The Oculus from first run Diablo in act 4.

At first I expected them to be awfully hard to farm but I have to admit it wasn't what I feared. I could farm one of these several times a day. I managed to get 12 so far with different seasonal classes. I noticed I can really get those fast on T16 rifts. At this rate I should manage completing the feat of strength. Afterwards, Diablo 2 is coming out, so I shouldn't be around anymore at least until Christmas.
if you use regular puzzle rings and a lv 5 character you avoid the mobs and kill greed. few legendaries drop that low, but ethereals all drop.
to get loads of puzzle rings, no chance of ancient, you can get a character to lv 31 and buy rings from kadala.
I feel fighting greed mright actually work on live. You gained way too many levels and your legendary pool was quite large by that time.

Not worth, unless you (as suggesteds) can wait untill end of season and save ancient puzzlerings. In LIVE i have gotten, so far, all 3 Ethereals on 4 different chars. and not gotten 1 single ancient puzzle. Been farming as I upgrade gems. Totally worth in PTR, in my opinion, not on LIVE.
