Please don’t ever apologize for negative reviews towards a book. Books are so subjective and we all love or dislike them for the same or different reasons. I think negative reviews can actually lead to good conversations! Also I can’t wait to start the caraval series now 😊

legendary is the BEST in the trilogy (and honestly my favourite stephanie garber book along with ballad of never after). tella is one of my fav protagonists and I'm OBSESSED w her and dante and I feel like they deserve so much more love from fans

@@icebearstudios2757 right. I guess we were supposed to find Tella more fun. I did...until she became a little annoying chasing after a man who was not interested in her for the longest time. Scar and julian were superior because they actually loved each other despite their obstacles. I didn't buy tella's love story much.
I remember at the time thinking Caraval was a standalone only to find out the story continued and was so excited! I need to revisit the trilogy again, it's been so long

I just finished Love Redesigned! I loved it! The romance and banter was so good! It was a five star read for me. I love my romance books! I am on a romance kick right now. I’m Dreamland Billionaires series now. I’m liking it so far. Lauren Asher does a great job with the banter!

This was such an incredible reading vlog, Alexa! So sad that you didn’t find a bunch of new favourites in this reading vlog, but I’m sure you’ll find some new favourite books soon. Also, I have some book recs for you! Only a Monster by Vanessa Len, which is a fun enemies to lovers urban fantasy with time travel. Yellow face by R.F Kuang, a literary fiction thriller about an author who steals her best friends manuscript. And lastly The Spanish Love Deception, one of my favourite romances with enemies to lovers, office workplace and fake dating. ❤
I really thought that I would love the night shift, but it was really bad, and I returned it to the store the same day. I rated it a one and a half or two stars. I love your videos ❤❤

The way that you felt the Veiled Kingdom was similar to Powerless is how I felt about Powerless being similar to Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard! I probably would’ve like Powerless if I hadn’t read Red Queen, but I just couldn’t get over the similarities and it made me not enjoy it as much.
I feel you the book that disappointed me a lot was Happy place by Emily Henry,I had so many high hopes for it since everyone loved it so much.

The 7 year slip was the one for me 😢 I heard so many good reviews but for some reason it didn't work for me.
Ahh I was looking forward to the veiled kingdom, but now I'm not so sure I'll end up loving it. Also, disappointed to find that the edition I have doesn't have character art on the inside 😢

I understand the feelings of not wanting to dnf a book. I had my first one this month and I went through so much back and forth on it since it's something I haven't done in forever. But I didn't want to force myself to read a book I wasn't enjoying.
The score was my least favorite of the deal series. Really enjoyed night shift, it was cute and fun and I loved that the MMC doesn’t sleep with the whole school, he’s humble.
I actually love that you said this because that’s something I didn’t even think of!! Definitely something I also like about the MMC!

If Veiled Kingdom relates to Powerless, then you forgot Powerless is a copy of The Hunger Games. I agree; I hate cliffhangers, too. Hence, I haven't picked up Iron Flame yet

I went into high hopes in enjoying The Dead Romantics as much as The Seven Year Slip but I feel like not much happened in The Dead Romantics compared to The Seven Year Slip. I did enjoy the characters and the story but I wanted more.

i read the bodyguard by katherine center this month bc my friend LOVES this book and I'd heard so many great things but I ended up not liking it at all and that was so disappointing, especially bc it sucks to tell your friend you don't like a book they loved
My question then is what would you consider spice vs just sexual scenes ? For example I thought the chestnut springs series had a lot of spice?
This is a great question & I should have explained it more when talking about it! SO, I don’t mind spice or “sexual scenes” in books! It’s just sometimes I don’t like the way an author may write out the scene because it just seems weird or cringe in my opinion. I also don’t really like when books have spice that is backtobacktoback. A scene here & there is fun but I don’t need the entire book being it!

In the veiled kingdom, the spice was just cringe imo & not my fav. In night shift, there was a lot of backtobacktoback. It felt like it was the entire book but it is a wattpad story so I should have expected it 😅

21:42 stop apologizing for not liking a book and stop feeling guilty for DNFing of wanting to DNF. If it’s a shitty book, it’s a shitty book and you can have that opinion. I didn’t read it, you did and you don’t like it. You’re allowed to have that. Not to mention, I love shit talking books. It’s my favorite pastime lol. If there’s nothing good about it talk all the shit you want, be honest, don’t keep trying to “ look for positives” if there isn’t any.
Everyone’s going to come for me but after hearing such amazing things, Powerless Divine Rivals and Fourth Wing were all disappointing to me 🙈 Although they weren’t 2 star reads!
