Miniature World Rotterdam - The largest model railway exhibition in the Netherlands

- Near Rotterdam Railway Station, there is the largest, finest, greatest and biggest model railroad layout of the Netherlands. This miniature world is built in HO scale and covers an area of more than 600 square meters. The Netherlands are presented with coasts, landscapes, railway lines, wind mills, trains, docks, buildings, ships and much more. Core of the entire model railway exhibition is the port of Rotterdam with container ships, terminals, dry dock, industrial plants and many bridges. Another section of the model railroad display presents a replica of the city of Rotterdam with its tram line, buildings and central station.

I know this is old but, WOW! In my younger days I use to make towns on sheet rock with drawn in streets and cardboard buildings along with matchbox buildings and matchbox cars and Lionel train tracks. One time I had put a HO race car track in a circle around the town. I would play for hours dreaming of building something like this, but never did. Thanks for sharing.
The modeling of the water is superb, the color and the rippling effect are spot on
All together.....Excellent job ! As for the screaming kids and loud people,....that I could do without ! Some of the trains were moving way too fast for the real thing however, most were really great. I must say, so much activity in such a small little town, people everywhere,.......so many trains and delivery trucks........what is going on in that town ? Looks good though.......I always get a kick out of these events, as a model-maker and craftsman myself, I pick up a lot of ideas. A lot of money goes into such a lay-out, incredible.

These huge layouts are more model towns or cities, then model trains!!!!!

Wow what a fantastic layout and what a fantastic video. Superb all around. Everything is amazing but those water textures are so incredibly real. Incredible skill went into creatiing that water.

I don't know spontaneously where is a model railway layout with the Orient Express. But that's a good idea!
@@pilentum the train with the blue coaches is the Orient express. It appears four to five times in this video. Anyway, model its interior properly and show us all one day. You can Google it if you don't know.

Toen ik de video maakte, waren er veel schoolkinderen in de tentoonstelling. Helaas!
The video is first class (apart from all the interruptions for adverts).
The model . . . ummmm! Much of its design and construction is superb. The same goes for the quality of most of the buildings and other structures. However, attention to some of the detail leaves a lot to be desired.
My pet hate is electric locos with no obvious means of power (they need the wires and pans UP, even if just for show), but there are many other things (mostly minor) which also let it down.
Obviously the layout has been constructed by a number of people, some superbly skilled, others perhaps less so. The model would benefit if some time were spent by the former, 'tidying up' the faults. This wouldn't be a major problem. It is, after all, a static model and doesn't suffer from the same problems those of us who build portable exhibition layouts suffer from (i.e. the knocks and shocks) of it being moved frequently between its home and various public venues with (often) limited access.
It is an ambitious model in both its size and in what it attempts to portray, and its builders should be congratulated for what they have already produced. I'd just like to see it go that one step further.
I want to come to see this one day

Я вообще довольно бегло просмотрел данное видео, но вижу, что на данном макете вроде пока нет движущихся по шоссейным дорогам автомобилей - инновации, впервые разработанной командой Сергея Морозова - создателя Гранд-макета Россия. Разве только на 22:24 беспилотный портовый контейнеровоз.

Dat is omdat de ouders van deze kinderen (de dertigers van nu) ook niet goed opgevoed zijn.
