Rainy morning in Asian rainforest

- As the sun rises above the quiet rainforest, clouds drift over and humidity peaks. The soundscape of the breathing forest is incredibly beautiful and immersive.
The dawn chorus is only a distant memory. Most daytime creatures have already started to forage for food or to look for mates, while night time wildlife is long since asleep. It's a quieter and more relaxed time in the rainforest, with occasional outbursts of song whenever a solitary individual remembers to call.
The only constant is the sound of soft raindrops falling on surfaces all around. This can happen in the absence of rain and is caused by fog drip, basically moisture condensing on every surface under the canopy. Combined with the heat, this makes for a slightly uncomfortable experience for humans habituated to living in air conditioned cities. It's not enough to keep me away though, as I explore the rainforests or Borneo looking for good soundscapes to document and preserve.

This is so wonderful. I wish I could go there. I looked it up; it seems few people speak English in Malaysia; it may even be discouraged.
It wasn't very difficult to navigate Borneo. Not everyone speaks English but enough people do, and with a bit of planning you will be ok.

Are you familiar with American Toad sounds? I recorded just a few seconds the other day in Ohio and ohhhhhhhhhh they're so peaceful. I'm like I need someone like you to make a whole 8-10 hours of them to have on in the background all day to relax my anxiety. Such a soooothing trillllly sound.
