I absolutely cannot wait! Ive been working on my own dragon puppet and you have been my biggest inspiration, I would have never even started this project without the guidance of your videos!! I know this tutorial will help a HUGE amount thank you so much for putting in the effort to help us on are dragon making journey!! 💙💙
Excellent tutorial. You show the drawing of every piece, give full detail of how to cut the bevels, show and explain how to glue and assemble the pieces, and even what to do if you forget/mis-cut pieces. All-in-all the sort of tutorial that doesn't leave you wanting.
I just finished the head base with help from the mom and this tutorial really helped me a bunch. Love all your work and keep up the awsome work, Charlie.
this is very helpful for me! IM a young artist and a LONGGG time ago I tried to make one, now I fully know how,im gonna get the supplys and research this video
This is amazing! I was just wondering if you could have a video showing how you make the eyes! Thx for making these vids, you inspired me to make so many puppets! My first huge dragon puppet was so inspired by your first dragon vid! Keep up the amazing work! Your amazing, and your very pretty and match so well with all the dragons you make!
I've just put this pattern together and i want to thank you for an excellent pattern & tutorial, you made it so easy! Now i just have to figure out the blinking mech and give him some character.
totally your own preference! I'm right handed, but have puppets that I use my left hand for, and some my right hand for. My left hand dragon was made so I could still do things with my dominant hand, so I could write a note or similar. Other puppets I use my dominant hand for as they're a little more fiddly. Honestly it's entirely up to your preference!
Fantastic tutorial! I’ve never tried puppet making before, and I’m still kinda new to prop making/cosplay as a whole, but I had the idea to make a FNAF security guard outfit and make a Mangle puppet to go along with it. This tutorial has given me the confidence to maybe attempt it! :D (…when I have the free time and funds to do so, that is)
@Cosmo223-z1h ahh bless you!! I hope you make awesome dragons, and don't be disappointed if you make less good dragons on the way! It's all a learning process and your newer ones will always be better 😁
Can I ask what size ping pong balls and the clear domes to use for the blinking eyes? I will be getting your pattern very soon and want to get the materials all in line. Would I be able to use the glass dragon eyes with the blinking mech (I'm not a great painter lol ) or would I be able to glue them to the ping-pong balls? Just curious. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I AM SUPER EXCITED TO GET STARTED ON CREATING MY NEW FRIEND!
@tiffanyrichmond7391 standard sized ping pong balls? 😅 I use 35mm diameter glass cabochons for the eyes. Yoy can print out eyes and glue them on or paint the back. A blink mech is a complicated thing, for your first puppet I suggest just keeping static eyes and painting ping pong balls or glass eyes.
@@KeepDrawingCharlie I have seen and heard they are pretty complicated LOL Do you have any suggestions on where to get a whole mech instead of making one by chance? I work a lot with kids and really wanted to have the blinking eye effect to give her the extra Personality XD. This is a first for me, but like you said before I am also an overachiever XD. Your videos have been SO helpful! I am super excited about this project! Thank you so much, Charlie!
This is exciting! and by the way, my puppet just got blinking eyes! they look a lot like your first dragon puppets eyes 😅the legs are next but they wont be foam. I'm also thinking about putting in LEDs for the big back spikes.
Just bought the pattern and the supplies to start the build, so excited! Do you have recommendations on size or what type of balls to buy for the blink mechanism? Thank you!
You can use ping pong balls, glass cabochons, or even clear plastic baubles. Highly depends what you want them to look like and how you build the blink into the head. Good luck! Send me photos of your build when it's finished!
I don't see why not, it's a similar foam, but if it's been stored rolled up, it may not hold the shape properly. I'd make sure to flatten it before using it.
I don't go through it in this video, but if you check the most popular video of mine, it goes through it there and includes a link to a tutorial I followed
Thank yoe soooo much ❤ I was waiting such a long time hoping you would reveal how to make that pattern for the head. You made my dream come true 😊 Can't wait to start. I love the other Baby one too, it's sooo sweet. You made an amazing Job on it. Will it be released this year as well? I am so hyped my husband laughs about it because i was happy like alittle girl after this video. I bought the pattern and printed it out that same night 😂😂 Thank you again sooo much for sharing all your work with us, big hug from Germany 🎉❤
The baby dragon head is my project for next year! I hope to do another video like this for it :D And thank you so much for your support, I really appreciate it! Please do send me photos of your dragon when it's finished!

I'm wondering if the pattern could be modified to make a male lion?
how durable is something like this?
Hi, I would absolutely love to make one of these, but I was just wondering if I'm right handed, should i keep the head on my right or left hand?

I’m creating a fursuit right now, and I have a quick question, how do you make the whiskers? Any tips n tricks?

I'm almost finished with building the dragon head! I was wondering, where can we buy or get the dragon tongue printable?
@courtneyhumphries5957 the tongue and teeth are available on patreon for my donators!

You are the main person who got me into Dragon puppet making now my parents basement is cursed with foam and unfinished Dragon heads❤

@@KeepDrawingCharlie first the puppet ever made had felt straps holding it together and not glue mounded all over it. lol a lot can change in a year

Would it be possible to use an old yogamat if it has the right thickness instead of buying foam?
I don't see why not, it's a similar foam, but if it's been stored rolled up, it may not hold the shape properly. I'd make sure to flatten it before using it.
Thank you for your super fast feedback, I will see how that flattening goes 😊
How do you connect the top part of the head with the bottom jaw. I’m not sure if I missed that, or if it wasn’t mentioned…

it really depends where you are in the world as to what suppliers are best. If you don't mind sharing your country, I may be able to pass on a couple?
