I own one. Just love, love, love it. I feel I'll prefer this 2 liter tuned to 300hp (some day), than a proper RWD M240i. It just handles so well, and has plenty of power if you're willing to use all of it.
Why would you prefer the 230i compared to a 240i? I owned the previous generation 230i with bolt on’s and a custom tune and it was no where near as a fun experience compared to the 240i.
The BMW 230i is probably the closest BMW makes in a car that has the heritage of the much-liked E30 Series BMW 325iS model. If I had the money, this would be the BMW I would get.
Why you would ever prefer a touchscreen in a vehicle compared to a physical control button is beyond me... You can blindly control your iDrive system with the iDrive controller. When using a touchscreen, you need to remove your eyes from to road to see what you are doing. There's no haptic feedback and if you hit a bump, you might press something unintentionally. This whole 'touchscreen' rage in the automotive scene really needs to go. Fast... +1 for BMW for still sticking to the iDrive controller in the 2 series coupe, unlike the new 2 Active Tourer or X1.
I ordered this one with the m sport in purple but the back of the car i agree its not the color of the tail lights though, its the shape something is toy-ish about the back. I think its a great deal for what it offers maybe because its made in Mexico.
Lovely car, just wish BMW offered a convertible. The 4 series is too big and a lot of cash. Expensive? Relative to some regular US market options maybe. Bigger picture? You're dreaming. The loaded car is $60k at European (UK) prices.
Exactly , they Talk about "expensive" for 45k 😂😂😂😂. But then eating at a Restaurant they pay over 100$ and say it's cheap. They have some Strange price feeling
This car is twice the price. Of course it is better, but I doubt it is 2x better. I remember Chris Harris tested the previous gen and it was significantly faster and it hangs on to corner grip is much higher than the 1st gen 86. Of course, you have significantly more power, which is always a bonus. Also the interior is at least 100x more comfy than the 86 and that's where probably why some will be willing to spend the extra money for the BMW.
@@jamsbong lol where did you even get that it's twice the price? If you're gonna share your opinion at least TRY to be honest bro. Oh and there's a video from thetopher who actually owns a BRZ and did a review on the 230.... He without a doubt recommend the BMW over the BRZ for just a few thousand more.
This reviewer speaks truth at the med of the video as he explains the score he gave this car.
Very good, and non-biased review
I just traded my 2011 320i coupe on a 2024 230 with X drive and the M sport package. It's amazing

@@NS416 I own a f22 230i and I ordered the G42 230i, I think this car will be perfect with a 300cv engine.
Finally a review on the Regular Trim Level. This is nice
I purchased this car in March, I looooove it! It's so sporty
Ordered mine in black sapphire with the M Sport package and all the extra goodies about a month ago. The wait is killing me already 😆
It worth the wait!

Man it's way to heavy to give you E30 vibes. Funnily enough you can go to Toyota GR86 for much closer E30 feeling :)

Holy smokes. That 230i looks sharp!! Time to trade in my old BMW. LOL
Great review. Really think this will be my next car.
Update: I bought one and love
It. Dream car🔥
Have you driven a base trim without the performance options? It drives great in standard trim. Plus it’s only about $40k with the convenience options.
Good review. Thanks
What no manual transmission? Then the Z it is.

i believe its the black rear diffuser thats seems kinda off, the rests are great
I'd rather save some money and get the Elantra N. Wish it came more fully loaded around 40

USD46k... wtf? In Europe its USD70k plus...

@@_leocav so like they pay them after buying the car or what?
Did BMW ever fix the timing chain guides shredding in these 4cyl turbo engines?
Yes they did the engine in the new 230i are very reliable!
Great review as always. Can you guys review the recently refreshed BMW X3 LCI 2022? Please
I prefer full out chrome trim over shadowed trim and combined with a dark/black paint. The perfect BMW looks every time.
Dude it's cheap in america, in Germany you pay 64k € (67000 Dollar) for that Car specced
This is cool
It's nice, but how much better is it than the Toyota GR86?

@@jamsbong Actually the 230i are about 40k, the Toyota GR86 is 30k.
@@buildmorefarms1007 oh yeah. You’re right. Then the 230i is a better deal.
Could also explain very few 86s are sold here in the USA.

The largest "misstep" by a looooong shot is . . . NO STICK SHIFT!!! GET IT TOGETHER BMW, SMH'!!!
Looks good … not a true bmw but a bmw is always a driver car 💪🏻…
The 2 series grand coupe is not a true BMW, I think this new 2 series coupe is actually one of the truer bmw’s, specially in M240i form.
@@galaman12001 I agree .
