- Transit officials are investigating claims a motorman’s girlfriend took control of a D train for several stops in Brooklyn over the weekend. NBC New York’s Andrew Siff reports.
He let her do it before....she just got caught this time.
This used to happen a lot back when I was growing in the 1980’s. Motorman letting their teenage son or daughter operate the controls or letting their girlfriend, fiancé or wife operate the train. It’s just that back then there weren’t any cell phone with cameras and no surveillance cameras on the platform. The conductor (the man and woman that closes and opens the doors) would always have a girl in the cab with them. I remember this one particular conductor that was giving away ice cream in a cone back in 1986 after he closed the doors. These were the times when the subway trains were all bombarded with graffiti.

@@farrockqns2577 Oh, wow. A while back, I had a friend who applied (and eventually got the position), but had to go through some serious hoop jumping for it.
He waited almost three years to hear from them after he filled out an application! It took additional months for him to complete the interview, testing(s), and orientation process.

Every man is responsible for his own actions. She did what she had her mind set on doing. The motorman entertained it. No woman who wants to see you grow would’ve been down for this bs. I hope he learn and reflect on this mistake because it cost him his livelihood. There’s many different ways this could have ended.

@Madison Specks Both are equally accountable. If I was in his position making six figures a year, my lady operating a train where I’m responsible for its passengers wouldn’t have even been an idea. She would have planted her ass in the regular passenger cabin like everyone else. As a grown woman why would want to put someone’s job and livelihood in jeopardy especially if you care about them ? Which clearly happened because the pictures is on social media for the whole world to see which is why we are talking about it now. It doesn’t matter who posted what, as grown woman and taking part of the situation she could have checked him to not post a thing and just share the moment with themselves as reckless as it was. That’s the problem with the world today , everyone wants to post their movements on social media to prove to the world they exist and more than half the time it results in people getting hemmed up no matter whatever walks of life you come from. Best case scenario the photo of the motorman should have been cropped out , so it would’ve been hard to determine which train the incident occurred on but it seemed both lacked common sense to even think that far ahead. We’re talking about accountability on both parties. Stay safe and stay blessed.

@@rayharvey1330 He can make money driving a big rig. The drivers who do long haul IE San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, Dallas, Miami, Kansas City etc .... They make about $115,000 a year. To get a job must have a commercial drives licence and you will need a passport to enter into canada. A friend I know makes $90,000 a year as an electrician and his wife makes $170,000 a year as a nurse. She is also a commander in the United States Navy Reserve. Essentially she is the breadwinner.

Growing up in New York and taking the train to school from Brooklyn to Manhattan i saw dudes having chicks driving the trains. I guess they wanted to show off and use it to get some you know what. Most people can't pass the exam to even be qualified to be selected for the training! For some people it's easy, for most I'd challenging for others its nervrack! Then add the people that jump or pretend to jump! Or in my case I had a passanger that tripped and fell in front of my train! Then the 5 year old the broke free of her mothers hand and almost fell in front of my train! In 20 years I had 20 near misses with track workers and countless customer near misses! Then add in the weather related issue! Yap a fun job!

Unfortunately that's not going to happen. People don't just get fired from the MTA. There's disciplinary process, he has a union behind him. Worst thats going to happen to him is, he's going to be forced to take a 30 day suspension, and be demoted to a cleaner.
