It’s such a great sophisticated ride, yet only is fun if you’re on the pilots seats. On paper it’s one of the best attractions ever made. But the interaction in the back seats is distracting and you want to see the simulations. Also people not familiar with video games are completely overwhelmed and it can get quite stressful
My wife and I experienced this ride during their Star Wars private evening event this year. While the rest of the crowd was outside watching the fireworks and parade, we had the Falcon to ourselves. I was the co-pilot. We had so much fun living in the movie.
I loved Rise of the Resistance. It really lives beyond the hype. However, Smuggler's Run will forever have a special place in my heart as I lived my dream of flying the Falcon AND punching it to light speed. The best part was my wife was with me and she enjoyed seeing me in 1000% geek mode as I became a little boy again. I was emotional as we exited the ride the first time.
The Imagineers are geniuses to have created one helluva grand experience.
So this is the perfect time to go cause you can be a pilot every time unless your party is a family.
Love how the guy filming is just mashing random buttons like "YES I'm doing something!!"
Makes me wish I went to the SoCal opening last year....had plans to go this year...but...yeah.

When I was eleven I saw The Empire Strikes back at a drive-in, and this ride would have blown my mind. I'd be like a 19th century farmer being handed a ringing cell phone.
This is the equivalent of giving your younger siblings the unplugged controller so they can "play" too.

How responsive are the controls on this ride?
Pretty responsive with just a small bit of of delay cause you're flying a huge piece of junk anyways but yeah its like a real video game responsive.

Not really that responsive- I road this yesterday, and the buttons only do something if the button is flashing. Meaning, if the button isnt flashing, it won’t work.
@@tommysevretaccount That's not at all what he asking, the controls of the piloting is what you would consider responsive. If you dont press any buttons, there is an effect.
@@tommysevretaccount of course they flash lights so people know what to do. It's self explanatory but all people of different walks of life ride this. Also what he's talking about are the up/down and left/right stick and not the buttons.

If its anything like mission space the players dont actually matter, the buttons and lights are just there to make u feel like ur doing something, pretty sure u dont have to press anything eitherway and the ride takes its course
@@bazza1024 It's not like Mission Space. The buttons ARE reactive to what the guest pushes. They are not just there for ambiance, they serve a purpose.

My wife’s cousin was part of the rides design and it’s kinda got a path but you can have a really rough time trying to not get lost or busted up if everyone isn’t doing their job somewhat. There’s a smooth way of piloting and a rough crash it way. If gunners aren’t shooting things you get hit a lot more and engineers help keep the ship together. If you are in a relationship and want to test it get in the pilot seats with your significant other and see if you survive lol.
