Tip: ball flow meter shows when gas is flowing....ball only rises when gas is being used... needle doesn't... if you have machine not energized and the ball meter is showing flow you probably have line leak... needle doesn't do that.

If this helps anybody to decide which type to choose from My work will only use the ball and tube type on the robotic welders. Almost every weld on the product we produce is a critical weld and I have seen it where a few CFH can make a difference in a passing weld. So I would assume they are more accurate as well
Can you run a welder without a regulator on the bottle? I don’t have one on mine and I’ve been having the problem of lack of fusion like the weld is not hot enough to melt the base metal. Is this because I don’t have one?
"Design Flaw" (leaker) Bought an import tig machine, it was equipped with the floating ball flo-meter. When you investigate the construction... there is no packing gland on the flow valve and you'll find the needle side stem has a single o-ring which extend's from the stem sleeve body when properly adjusted where it serves as nothing until the valve has been opened so far to get the o-ring up into the sleeve/body to serve as a would be packing gland... flow is at maxinum and by far out of range in serving as a flo-meter. They're leakers by nature and cost you money, (the cheap ones) maybe it's a plan by design to put argon back into the atmosphere?? (Classified) Gov speak with forked tongue.

You need a regulator to regulate the flow. Gas pressure from the bottle directly without regulator sometimes too much. Buy on Aliexpress, it's cheap.

I thought for mig welding it’s a mix co2 tank with argon

sir can i plug my argon gas flowmeter direct to the tank.??? my argn gas flowmeter is like that one in the left the 1gauge only.
What part of the little ball bearing do you use to measure the flow? top or bottom?
