I am a horror movie fanatic and I blame this movie. Alvin was my inspiration and now I watch and critique any horror movie I can find. This movie (and this song especially) was a special part of my childhood.
I can't tell if alvin was actually concerned over the fate of theodore during this scene or if he was just jealous that theodore was stealing his spotlight
@@brierichardson8462 that was a regular episode though the other two were DVD movie releases still pretty cool but it's crazy to think this particular one is going to be twenty years ago next year
One of the best Alvin and the Chipmunks animated movies, with the best soundtrack with this song and Monks on a mission. An underrated gem. The Frankenstein movie is great too. It’s not Halloween if you don’t watch these two movies.
@@Phantom-Neon Dude, I didn't even remember writing this comment! It's been so long! And I do agree, they're basically trying to echo the past as opposed to making new music that is actually good. Typically they won't write music, they just take a modern song and raise the pitch. Same effect but no creativity. But thanks for reminding me, even though I don't even remember watching this video or writing that comment!
Came back years later to just listen to the best songs in these movies. Honestly, all of the songs were great. The Werewolf and Frankenstein were my favorite movies growing up. I would always rewind these on the VCR when I was little. I wish they would bring back The Chipmunks. I know there is a Nickelodeon show, and I like that one too. But it's not as good as the originals. I don't hear anyone talk about The Chipmunks anymore and I think its sad because I loved them growing up and still do. We need The Chipmunks to come back! But with the old art style and no 3D animation.
Without context this could be interpreted more than one way. A little sibling seeing his big brother grow up and go trhoug puberty, for example. (Or in a more darker turn, a friend/family member changing and becoming violent/abusive.)
When I was younger this song would make me cry sometimes “we wish we knew what your going through we just hope your gonna be alright”. I was diagnosed with depression young and I always thought my family saw me as a monster/freak. I wasn’t outwardly mean but I was distant and not as friendly as I used to be.
@Sunflower plants vs zombies I have depression and PTSD and I don’t know if they will ever truly go away but with therapy and support from friends and family I am doing a lot better. I find ways to cope and recognize my triggers early so I can reach out before my depression gets too bad.
I really like this as a puberty metaphor. Even howling at the moon could be interpreted like the kid is staying up late at night and moving around/singing/throwing tantrums, and the little sibling in the next room hears these noises but can’t explain them any other way. Someone should write that
This song feels like it's about abuse, I know the context to the song, I've been watching this movie since I was little, but oh my god this just sounds like they're talking about someone who's got increasingly abusive
This and the chipmunk adventure were like my two favorite movies when I was kid I can still sing all the songs from the movies and I remember I had this and the chipmunk adventure on VHS and my tapes started skipping I watched the so much
You know when you get something stuck in your head for years upon years? When I say this motherfucking song is stuck in my head. It's stuck there. I constantly hum/sing this randomly to the point where its unsettling
This is where the cracks in the band’s relationship start to show. As Theodore took leave from the band to recover from his heroin addiction, he took the time to write this song from the perspective of his older brothers. The result was the most successful single of that Halloween and the title track of Theodore’s first solo album.
the nostalgia this song brings back from watching this movie as a kid, could bring a tear to my eye what a movie, would watch this with my brothers at Halloween as a kid and we used to always love this song
lol well it's not sad but everyone didn't like seeing the changes Theodore was going through so it was a pretty fitting song especially since they were doing a dr jekyll mr hyde school play

I remember I used to watch this with big sister and my big brother Theodore was always my fav when it first came out I was so happy I think I liked Theodore the most was because I was the youngest out of my brother and sister and he was the youngest out of his brothers any way love the song brings so many memories back
Don't mind me I'm here after watching Trollhunters Spoiler Alert! After Jim turned into a Troll Yup for some reason I thought of this song so I had to hear it again
that’s like when i get a stomach ache or i had the stomach bug and i could not go to school and my vice class president sydney filled in for me and she said yeah i will no problem just take it easy and relax and the other students in my school and one of my friends said feel better man

I've spent over 15 years with glimpses of this song stuck in my head and I finally found it. WOW how did I forget about this movie!?!?
i think Wolfman had some great songs. it's hard to say which I liked best but this is definitely one I really enjoyed.

honestly, it was probably both lmao (but more concerned)
Sound's about right
It was both since Alvin is used to being the cool one but hes also genuinely concerned about his brother
he was definitely concerned but at first u could tell he was a little jealous 😂
It's not October without this movie or meets Frankenstein
They made a phantom of the Opera too

You can't hate the original movies! The modern Chipmunks are a direct contradiction of what they were meant to be.
Not exactly.
they've become a jukebox musical which pales in comparison to their original songs

I was diagnosed with depression young and I always thought my family saw me as a monster/freak. I wasn’t outwardly mean but I was distant and not as friendly as I used to be.

Omg same!
This is one of their finest songs!!!
The chipmunks and chipettes rock!
An original one too
The original twilight without vampires
I agree
In what regard?
Better than the actual series no cap
I honestly think my parents got really tired of Alvin and the chipmunks when I was a kid 😂😂
Puberty. That's what he's going through.
Yes the original chipmunks! This is what I remember from when I was a little kid. Not this BS that they say is the chipmunks.
Technically the 60's version was the original version.
They need to pay tribute to the 80's chipmunks with a new movie with the 80's animation style.
This and the chipmunk adventure were like my two favorite movies when I was kid I can still sing all the songs from the movies and I remember I had this and the chipmunk adventure on VHS and my tapes started skipping I watched the so much
I did the same. So my mom bought me the DVD with both movies on it.
1 word to describe this "PUBERTY"
The nostalgia hit me so bad I started crying

When I say this motherfucking song is stuck in my head. It's stuck there. I constantly hum/sing this randomly to the point where its unsettling
Has anyone realized that the old chipmunks, have the exact same voices as the new chipmunks in the Nickalodeon show?
That's because they have the same voice actors: Ross Jr, and Janice!
Late to answer but they tried really hard to replicate this era of the chipmunks, you can tell by the opening song alone.
change "little brother" into "big sister" because I'm pretty sure this is how my younger siblings feel about me lol
Wolfstar 11 ho i got you becouse the howling👍😉👍 i got you
With me, my big bro prefers little sister
For me "big brother werewolf" xp

I sing this on a daily basis, is that bad?

Of course not
No, I do it too. Practically 24/7.

The fact there isn't a high quality album version of this song (without the howling and other noises) is a real bummer
I just thought of this song randomly and it slaps bruh

I don't know why but this song pumps me up, like so much that I can use it for excerise. Guess I just vibe to this more than any teen should.

Yes, That is right.
It's on Netflix!!!!!!
This song is AWESOME!!!!!!!
This is one of those songs I think of whenever it comes to acting out.
Weirdly a banger, like the pitched up voices actually work for it. Probably cuz it was written with them in mind.
Love it. I just like the sound and voice in this song
