I initially thought this was a gimmick/parody type band, writing them off into the "I'll check that out some day" category. Though the tongue is planted firmly in cheek, this is some brutal stuff with a massive groove.

i mean, fwiw, if you ever took death metal that seriously in the first place you've got some issues. i always treated stuff like cannibal corpse as mostly joking anyway. unless people ACTUALLY think corpsegrinder is smashing faces with a hammer.

Honestly, I've always maintained the same opinion despite half of my friends preferring "Warmaster" and the other "Realms of Chaos." "IVth Crusade" just has everything that band does well incorporated into an album that flows so well that suddenly it's over! Play it again!

I usually prefer bands older stuff. With Bolt Thrower I love For Those once Loyal. With Death i love Symbolic. Most every Death Metal band though I prefer earliest material. I need to explore this band more. Awesome music!
