Hello from USA! I stumbled across this video. Your channel is amazing. One of the best G scale railroad channels I have found. Absolutely love your models. They are beautiful. I hope one day my models are as detailed as yours.
Thank you!! If you throw time and patience at a model, they get better and better. This is one of the perks of social media. I don’t show you the bad ones, lol. Would love to see what you are doing.
@@riekusvanderwesthuizen471 Thank you. You've caught me between layouts. Just moved 18 months back and trying to figure where to put the trains. Got more space now. Hopefully will have tracks down this year.
One superb model, the smoke is very realistic, the large scale helps in this aspect, as it does with the sound. I had a foray in SA Cape gauge models in HO gauge on incorrect 16,5mm track, as the DJH models were offered in this track width only then. A class 25 was built from scratch however. As this all was in pre internet times getting information was difficult, I had to revert to whatever I could find in books which I could get in the UK. I can imagine that sourcing your materials from within SA is a headache, and you may order most from the UK instead. But I now know that there's a wealth of information collected by the RSSA. All those Garratts in 1/24 are eye-watering and I subbed to your channel to see more of these nice builds. After doing many other subjects I'm back in SAR again, but this time in On2 gauge on the correct 14mm track gauge. But I might do Cape gauge models in O gauge as well in the future, running on 24,5mm track. The remark you made that your face and body were designed for radio made my day!
I gather you manufacture your own track? O gauge is a lovely scale. Big enough to allow lots of detail and small enough to not eat acres of space. A NGG16 in O would be awesome. My favourite remains the NGG15. There is a crowd in Germany doing an O gauge class 91. I did drool over it a bit.
@@riekusvanderwesthuizen471 I build track myself indeed. The NG/G16 is under construction, the basis is a Backwood Miniatures kit, but as I'm modelling the first series of NG/G16, which was more or less a transition from the NG/G13 to the later post war NG/G16, lots of parts have to be made from scratch. Also detail is not to overwhelming on this kit and partially incorrect. I obtained a complete set of drawings in PDF format of the NG/G16 which are very helpful. A NG15 is high on the list too, as well as a NG/G11 and NG10. There is a loco very similar to the NG10 in operational condition on the Brecon Mountain Railway in the UK, it's a lovely machine.
ESU has very nice files. But first place must go to the fact that they give us an extraordinary interface between decoder and programming it. I will use nothing else.
A beautiful model as always and very realistic. Question from someone who does not know "Should there not be smoke and goeters everywhere when she starts up?
I mainly build large scale. I can do HO when I have time. But they are custom built and very few guys want to fork out R5k for an analogue diesel. Or R7k with sound. So I never really took it further.
@@riekusvanderwesthuizen471 okay...thanx for the reply....was just thinking about static display....cause i dont have a layout to run trains....i do have some ho static display trains....would like to have a class 32diesel....anyway thnx for your reply...apreciate
Superb. Well done Sir. Those horns are outstanding and so realistic.
Thank you

Hi...would like to know if you also build ho scale diesels and sell them?
I mainly build large scale. I can do HO when I have time. But they are custom built and very few guys want to fork out R5k for an analogue diesel. Or R7k with sound. So I never really took it further.

I have. Northmead Benoni. But I build to order.
Baie indrukwekkend!
Dankie man.
Uitstekend
Dankie maat.
Wow, that locomotive is contributing to global warming all by itself! (that's a joke, btw, not a criticism)
Lol. Its about 10 degrees Celsius here today....maybe turn the smoke up a bit hey. Thanx for the reply. Keep watching.
