M16A2.. how could I forget.. it’s the rifle that was issued to us when I first entered the Marine Corps. I still remember my DOPE front site post is Flush, Rear Elevation 8/3-2, Windage 5R. It’s the first Rifle I have ever fired in my life. I remember our qualification distance(s) were 200, 300, and 500 yards using only iron sights. We started getting the ACOG during the war on terrorism (Iraq and Afghanistan) and upgraded the rifles to A4’s. Great shooting sir and awesome video. Thank you for sharing.
Nice! Before I retired form the Marine Corps the M16A2 service rifle was replaced with M16A4, last time i saw the A2s was in Weapons and Field Training Battalion as the SNCOIC for Combat Marksmanship Training. As far as I know, the Marine Corps took it out from the USMC inventory.

The M16A2 is Currently Issued to Rear Echelon Troops in the USMC because it is Replaced by the M27 IAR within frontline use
