Ours turns on all the red LEDs, then an electric bell goes off and dispatch sends out the call. Then for the extra shit your pants factor, we (the ambulance crew) have a separate tone box in our room which is somehow louder than the station tones
When I first joined the Service, it was bells, very large bells, very noisy bells! Changed to tones on speakers through out the station and message on the printer. Tones were loud but bearable, also all station lights internal & external would come on.. Worked every time!!
That’s interesting to see the lights of different color go on when calls come in. I listen to police scanners and my late great uncle from Kentucky was a volunteer firefighter and he had scanners and radios in his vehicles so I’m familiar with the tones. But never seen what really happens inside a fire station when there’s a call.
Voice call, lights, buzzer then dispatch print out for my house. Meanwhile you get bunker on fire up engine etc, run without running. Every time I love it. Best job in the world, only job!!!
That’s actually a pretty cool set up. Our station needs something like this. They’ve talked about it but nothing ever got done. How would you install something like this? We currently have nothing in our station.
Same. Where are you on ? Im on Lakeshore, Suburb of Windsor, the "Never get hired unless a family member's on" Windsor fire department, lol. I'd change one thing here, the tones are too loud all at once. I've been to a station where the tones increased in sound slowly. Those tones make me go from sound asleep to just-shit-myself !!!!
Even though this was a test, I just feel bad for any firefighter that had a pager programmed to those tones. They set the tones off 3 times, which means any pager programmed to those tones went off 3 separate times. Hopefully they did that during the day 😂
Typically that doesn’t happen ... they can’t dispatch 2 alarms at the same time. And if this station only has one apparatus in the CAD, then another station would take the secondary call.
What the name of this lighted multi-color system and company that makes it? does it work with digital signal, we switch from analog to digital signals.
Different stations have different alarms and set ups. Some stations have bells in them that can be very loud. Others have pagers in amplified chargers throughout the station that go off when a certain tone is played. But then some also just have a series of tones that go off. If it’s a full volunteer, they might not even have in house tones because no one sleeps there. The volunteer departments just rely on pagers or radio straps or apps such as Active911 and I Am Responding.
Why would you think that ? The only reason I can think of is you aren't aware of how a volunteer fire dept works. The firefighters have pagers, and they go off when they get a call, then the dispatch gives them the details. This is done twice. The firefighters respond from their homes, work, or wherever they may be. So, no need for tones at the hall. Hope this helped.
I’m sure there’s a way that could be set up. But it’s probably really expensive so a lot of stations don’t do that. Most stations are lucky enough to just have remote controls in their apparatus to open/close the door from inside the truck. But some stations still have to open/close the door by the push button inside, so when responding, someone always has to make sure the door is lowered before leaving. Shoot, very few stations aren’t even lucky enough to have electric doors 😂 - but just about every station does.
ESCO Dispatch are you a fire fighter? I have a friend who is a firefighter, but he retired. He never told me about station tones. I never knew that the lights stayed on for 85 seconds.
Different departments use different systems. Some fire departments, mine included, use Active911 which is an app that sends an alert to our phones when a call drops, it provides more information and it’s how off duty personnel are alerted. There is a public app that civilians can use, it’s called PulsePoint and you can track certain calls in certain areas.
Ours turns on all the lights, then the tone goes off real loudly, followed by the looming voice that rattles the very core of your soul.
Lmao the first time I heard an alert I screamed and jumped about two feet out of my chair it was funny as hell.
@@Coastie1548 I'll pay good money to see that my man
?
Lol. Mine does every light turns red a super loud bell rattles off your ears and then our house siren vibrates the building.

That medical alert sound is scary

This is literally the coolest shit ever.

Lovely buzzer and bell noises!

That's so cool I want those in my home :)
As someone who has been woken up countless times in the middle of the night by station tones and call lights... No. No you don't.
@@ChrisSmith-en7wp LOL
Our system is voiced by Samuel L Jackson. "Get up MThufkas! Shi need done!"
1:09 it sounds scary
Yeah our alert system is just a loud warbling and then coded light beams and led lights
Imagine this at night, the noises and lights would scare me so much
This what i expect at every fire station
Is this Medford Oregon or Medford Massachusettes?
Todd Hogg it is Medford Oregon
I love the tone
Awesome! I wish someone did this in Canadian fire halls. I kinda want to know how we do this.
Same. Where are you on ? Im on Lakeshore, Suburb of Windsor, the "Never get hired unless a family member's on" Windsor fire department, lol. Firefighters forever. You are heroes
The G2 system is also nice, like the soft tones. Much easier on the system at night.
In are station the bell goes off and all the lights turn off as well as the stove, microwave etc
Sound effects
0:20 number one
1:09 number two
1:54 number three
Which one is scarier
Number one, because it’s what we have as our medical tone and it wakes me up all hours of the night 😂
why don't you all want to hear the info he's trying to educate us with. Either way it's just an emergency alert.
Definitely a useful system to have.
Cab you program the garage door to open automatically when the tones sound?
Daniel
oooo thatd be cool
Medford MA?
Even though this was a test, I just feel bad for any firefighter that had a pager programmed to those tones. They set the tones off 3 times, which means any pager programmed to those tones went off 3 separate times. Hopefully they did that during the day 😂
Definitely an innovative system.
I have a question, what if two alarms came in at the same time for example a fire call and an EMS call, what color would it light up?
+Adam Gani thanks man
Typically that doesn’t happen ... they can’t dispatch 2 alarms at the same time. And if this station only has one apparatus in the CAD, then another station would take the secondary call.
Probally other emergency.
can you do one without talking over it?
what kind of tone box is that with the bell ringing and the tone noise
What the name of this lighted multi-color system and company that makes it? does it work with digital signal, we switch from analog to digital signals.
how loud is the fire Station alarm when you guys get a call when you sleep how loud is the alarm

Pretty cool.
With those kind of Lights the fire department will know which calls are going out
Red: fire
Blue: medical
Green: other calls
So green would be for like.. HazMat or Swiftwater/Technical Rescues, I assume.
Princess Lemmy yeah, and MVA's (car crashes). unless if this department counts those as medical
Pretty cool. For "other emergencies", would this Include car wrecks or gas leaks?
+Kaitlyn Heminitz gas leak maybe a other emergency
kfc28371ify most likely hazmat
For mutual aid assistance and stuff like that
Other emergency is probably used for hazmat
Spaceship Aliens sound 1:09
What type of heater is that
But the blue light looks awesome and sounds to from it
Did Medford ever have a siren system at one time?
Who makes this product and how can my department get it? Thanks
And when you work on an ambulance you're dead meat if you're not en route in 45 seconds lol. Yeah....dispatch you know. =)
LOL
Is this a volunteer fire department?

Jordan Goldstein That would fall under "Medical Emergency"
+BigRed It would be blue as heart problems are medical hope I helped 😆
Red is fire emergency
Big Red. That is medical emergency
Can the Fire garage door open automatically when the tones come on

soo how loud is the alert tone soo how often does it go off for calls
I wonder how many times the pagers went off for this demonstration 🤔

Not really much for heartsaver tones, way too obnoxious
Creepy
