I remember when this game came out. As a huge Gremlins fan, I was stoked when I first heard the news. When I tested it in the store, together with other eager gamers, all of our chins dropped to the floor simultaneously when the store owner cranked up the volume. (He already knew). Nobody had ever heard such awesome drum and base in NES game before. More over, the graphics and animations were incredible for the time. Still have the cartridge, and the package+manual in close to mint condition.
The way Naoki Kodaka was able to perfectly emulate the iconically playful yet aggressive Jerry Goldsmith score from the film, using only the nes soundchip, is genius.
@somethinglacking1 Absolutely. It's rare for a movie-based-video game to write music that sounds like it'd fit perfectly in the film. Sunsoft was spot on here.
One of the few games where I didn't mind starting over again. I'd get to hear this awesome tune :) Really fun and challenging platform game true to the source material. Highly recommended playing it if you haven't already.
ikr I recently bought a copy of this game for 15$ and i already fell in love with this game and the soundtrack is very good. A very underrated gem from the NES library.
In nes games when You've heared the music You knew who made the game You are hearing. I for example now I knew that SUNSOFT made a "spy hunter" even i didn't remembered that. The same was with codemasters nes games - their sound tracks were really charateristic.
Pure nes-midi eargasm. To the metal people out there: PLEASE MAKE A MEDLEY OF THIS, GREMLIN BATTLE AND THE BIG BATTLE! It would be f.u.c.k.i.n.g. a.w.e.s.o.m.e.

You are so very welcome. ^__^ ...What did you think of it, btw? Not too shabby, eh? If you liked it, I'd recommend you to check out the other videos on that dummeh guy's channel (provided you haven't already, of course). Doubly so if you're, like me, a sucker for orchestral music.

@@excme22 no it's a variation of it there is at least two main melodies combine.

Sunsoft always had killer tunes in their games.
Gotta love that sunsoft bass
Fucking Sunsoft. Everything they put out for NES had awesome music.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naoki_Kodaka
It's a masterpiece of Nes music.
Yes this and batman return of the joker was real masterpieces from the nes
This song only randomly pops into my head about 20 times a year or so. Nothing major.

MISS THEM BOTH!
THATS WHERE IVE HEARD THIS FROM. THANK YOU
Is that a reference to that scene in Gremlins 2? 🤣
This has just the right amount of eerie to make it absolutely brilliant!
I love the part where it sounds like the bass and drums are being played.
Thinkin' of doing a heavy ass metal cover of this. The spooky riffing would sound so freakin' cool.
Or a punk one.. i could definitely see the punk and heavy metal on this..
El soundtrack de mi vida, me encantaba ese juego ¡¡adorada niñez!!
Hi
Boobs
Play this at my funeral
🤣
😂

No
If you do, the gremlins are gonna break the lowering machine and make your coffin drop
One of Sunsoft's best games IMO and a great soundtrack too.

that would go to Batman, but this is a very very close second.
@@TheCrypticmeta4 Batman is good, but quite overrated.
this is the best thing ever!
Gremlins 2 Music (NES)-The Best Theme
No batman return of the joker nes are the best music 😊
this sounds like it could fit the movie perfectly, that's kinda amazing. it sounds like gremlins
My grandma bought this game for my birthday. Strange the memories that stay with you. Thanks grandma.

Sounds like "Flowers of Antimony" From Shovel Knight.
exactly what i was thinking! they're both so sick!!!
Now that you mention it, it does!
You might be on to something

Great theme. I never had the experience to play this game
An astoundingly good approach that I wish more people shared with you.
This is my favorite track.
Ghosts 'n' Gremlins
That bass
I swear I've heard this somewhere else before. A video by a popular TH-camr? A fangame? I can't put my finger on it...
MatPat (Game Theory) used this in one of his Mario is mental videos if I remember...
Cinnamon Toast Ken uses this as his theme sometimes.
lazypurple used this in his how it feels to play pyro extras video
Naoki Kodaka is awesome, I love Batman - Game over by him too.
This is one of the best VGM songs I've heard on the NES.
I LOVE THIS GAME !!!!!
This one and the jumping tomatoes. Memories... 😆
I'm so gonna learn this on guitar!
So good :D
I love orchestral music, and I find that remix to be incredibly awesome. ^^ I love it.
Finally Found It!!!
Has the feel of the gremlins theme
i definitely have to fav this.
0:19 attack of the killer queen
Now, of course everybody knows that _I_ love this soundtrack!
My childhood right here
It's rare to get such a rich and full sound out of the NES. This is quite impressive.
Sunsoft was always amazing with their music. It had the Sunsoft bass wich sounds totally awesome
I think it had to do with a new sound chip they used in the cartridges.
***** Ah so it was a case of programming? Thanks for clearing it up!
I listen to this on VIDEO GAME QUALITY via my Game Radio App sometimes, when it comes on.
the music sound timeless in my ears
Due to my oddly specific nostalgia to this I'm nicknaming this track "Jumpman"
A PUNCH and a PIT!!!!!!!!!

@explod2A03 As the Angry Video Game Nerd says, it seems Sunsoft games frequently have good music. Look at the Batman Games on NES.

Gremlins 2 was one of those so-so NES games that you would have turned off after 20 minutes... if it hadn't been for the music.
And if you want to hear this theme as a battle theme, look up "Banana Nababa - Fight Theme Music"
This game was hard...
