I’ve had a chow for 13 years. They are very intelligent dogs but are aloof and stubborn. They are also manipulative and will occasionally challenge your authority to see how you react. They are incredibly loyal and great to whomever they deem part of their pack, including children. They are not great with dogs they don’t know, mine is not a fight starter but definitely a fight finisher. I travel a lot and they are fine to be left alone with a dog walker they know. I love my chow, they are the best companion an adult could ask for.
Vert true!!!
I had 2 Chow Chows at the same time, they were the best dogs and if I have the opportunity to have a dog again I will have a Chow, they are loyal and love their family with all their heart and they are very protective too.
My chow chow listen to me, he loves when im always hugging him. His okay for being alone and he runs fast and loves to play with our other dog. He loves my kids and he listen everytime we call him.
I think that this video is teaching you not to adopt a Chow Chow. And Chow Chows are loyal, I have a Chow Chow he's very kind to everyone even other dogs or cats.
how did you socialize him
i agree with everything that you said about the Chow chow, except the: 1. speed because 'i've seen my chow chow run, jump and catch a low flying bird. 2. intelligence, because i have observed that chow chows appear dumb(because it seems that they don't listen) but in reality they understand almost "everything" we say but they just wont obey, because they think they are better than us (haha!) 3. sensibility, if you mean how they sense danger, i'd say their rating should be 10 (for my dogs at least). because i saw how easily they sense even the slightest strange noise or smell inside or at the back of the house while they are at the front garden, especially at night. they are a great guard dog, especially the "male" chow chow. my 1st Chow died at the age of 10(human years). but i guess if we're not living in the tropical country my chow will last longer. right now i have 2 more left. i had 16 chow chows before because i love this breed so much. great informative video. thumbs up!
I Agree with you in the sensibility, like my dog 😊 He's just a 3 months old now but he's barking out loud every time hear something or someone's coming.
Hey venus i was trying to get chow chow i am from. India are they aggressive to owners and do they shed fur so much.. And do they really have drools that much
Well explained Sir. Well done. You just described my chow chow in every way possible. My Mishka in a nutshell.

My Male Chow Chow is wonderful with small kids, babies, cats, kittens, and other dogs... He's 10 years old and he's far from dumb stubborn and yes they are very aloof think they're above most everyone just as cats are. He's an amazing guard dog too!
I know you can teach them to do anything but with a Chow you absolutely must be consistent, patient and praise praise praise! I've just recently started to train him new things and my goodness he's just so adorable and acts like a puppy 😍❤️
I recently got another chow after the passing of my childhood chow. She became my own after I was old enough to care for. Unfortunately they are one owner dogs and I wasn’t her person cause she was so attached to my dad.
My dad whom just didn’t really care about her anymore who also took off and totally left our family contributed to her passing shortly after. I can vividly remember him flying back cause we couldn’t lift her anymore due to her hind legs finally giving in.
When he did arrive at the place he once called home she used up all her energy and ran and greeted him but her hind legs collapsed at my dads feet.
She was strong willed and even though she could barely make it she was so devoted to him even when he wasn’t to her.
Even though I still miss her and it hurts everyday. Rip sammie 2001-2018
I can literally show u that my chow is way more nice to kids and loyal owners, I think in kindness they should be rated at least 7/10
Chows are the best and the cutest
Also my chow has a lot of energy and can run a lot
They love owners))
Imstillapeaceofgarbageee EXE I want a chow chow. If that’s the case, how do u raise it to be like that? I don’t want a chow chow if these stats in the video are accurate
I agree, I consider them as the most loyal dogs.
my dog dosnt love me
yes very true i think that if u get a chow from a pup and raise it from a pup with a cat it wont know any different
JC Hills make sure you socialize them from a early age, get them used to dogs and people because they tend to be quite suspicious of unknown people/animals, make sure you let them know you’re in charge too and you should be fine (as a side note, just know that they may need to be supervised around young children, especially ones they don’t know, because young kids tend to grab and pull at dogs and the chow chow breed doesn’t tend to tolerate that too much)
Love the loyalty of this superb breed!
My favorite dog breed ever💙💙💙
I’ve had five ChowChows By your rating I don’t think you have ever owned one. Never gave a thumbs down till your video
I have a chow chow hes very energetic and veryyy loyal and sadly not friendly with cats but you can teach him to be and i love him very mutch
I'm a senior. I would love to have a dog. I think the chow chow would be a good choice.
And? Whats now
Very beautiful dogs. Calm, quiet, and doesnt want to lick you all day. They're like companions, not pets :) I've got one and we're more like friends, you just know that the respect is there
Thank you I loved
Love them cannot live without one. Lost my chow 6 months ago
I love Chow Chow very very much
Great content, keep it up! :)
Wow we have 4 Chows and 3 cats. aAll come from very different backgrounds. Lily the eldest, adores hugs and rubs from anyone willing to give them to her, she is friendly with all young and old but I would say stands back a little until she sees how the person is. Louie a great big cream, is a stunning looking dog, laid back, not easily riled, adores attention when it gets a bit too much for him he will just turn away and face a wall if necessary...to say enough is enough, Moody Blue comes next and she is stunningly affectionate, loves hugs from all, thinks she can still sit on ones knee, or maybe she’s a nanny goat dressed as a chow, finally there’s Lollipop, she is pure joy, difficult to be cross with even when she’s naughty, she’ll always try to push that bit harder, thinks everything is a game, life is just so much fun for her, she can open doors in and out, very friendly, easy to assume nothing will phase her but she’s actually very sensitive, very friendly with all. They all get along very well with the cats who boss them about. Oh they will occasionally chase one for a bit of fun but know quite well not to go to far as there maybe a sore nose to deal with. All 4 are totally clueless about roads and cars...they just don’t get it and would easily walk out in front of an oncoming car and assume they’re safe. These dogs are very intelligent, not easily fooled, understand object permanence, are fairly stubborn, they don’t do silly performances and do things that make little sense to them, none of them are yappy. or in your face. None of them have ever been aggressive with the children. (Young ones) They make excellent guard dogs...well I wouldn’t like to think of what would happen any fool that decided to break in. All strangers are welcome so long as one of the family brings them in but alone would be a different thing. I guess just like humans careful with strangers, not so stupid to assume because a human smiles at you that it’s safe.
MY DAD TOLD ME THAT CHOWS ARE RIPPERS AND TEARERS WHEN THEY BITE!!
@@gordonames1892 Wow. Chows will clamp on and not let go. Like most dogs they will shake their victim. If you want to stop a Chow chow fight grab its tail and pull then away.
@@audreymlean-roberts1394 My dad's experience was my grandmother had a CHOW kennel back in the 1930s. Movie Stars like Jack Okie and others use to come out to the farm and see the new puppies. My Aunt Wanda use to drive the farm truck down to Hollywood and deliver puppies!!
@@gordonames1892 Sounds like they had a wonderful life. They were breeding dogs at a time when everything wasnt so messed up.
If you’re not a very social person then a chow would make a great companion for that lifestyle..
Típ: take the dogs out early morning and at night for walks to avoid the heat and also awkward encounters with other dogs and people.. because they are so furry and cute people always reach out to pet chows but it’s really not a pleasant experience imo (even though my chow was socialized and trained)
Best dog I ever had was a chow. He did have some occasional nose bleeds, but lived to a ripe old age. He loved going for walks in the outdoors and social time with other dogs. His watchdog prowess was excellent and very discerning of individual characters.
My first dog was a chow chow.Sje was a great protector and pet.
One Man Dog. Sort of an Introvert canine. Intelligent and fiercely loyal.
Great upload. Thank you & GOD bless
My black Chow Chow was six months old when I adopted her and I had 3 cats and 1 other small dog and my daughter was 7 years old at the time. I was actually the only person the SPCA would allow to adopt her because of her disposition. It does take a strong willed person to stand up to this breed because they are very protective of their family. She was actually fine with the all the other animals. The best thing that happened to me was I left her in my car running one summer night and this fool decided to stick his head inside my car window. Needless to say all 65 lbs of pissed off dog scared the shit out of him.
I used to own Chows 5 in all absolutely wonderful breed and so loyal to their family.
Most stubborn at times and very wary of strangers, I miss them all so much😢
Damn teddy 🐻
I like every dog. They would be the best dog for me, don't mind staying alone, low exercise needs, and protective.
I Love them and have 2 black chows chows, male and femele. 🐕🐕😍

Mi amor de mi vida
This video is not really accurate. It's not about the breed, but the owner and how the owner trains that pup.
Chow Chow owner; we are very blessed with him very obedient, calm,
observant, quiet, kind
Therapy dog.
Don't like stranger's touching him, but who likes?
Very handsome get all the attention when we walk him.
Smell clean, softer hair
He always smelling good.
Just brush him and he will not lose his hair around. He's the top 10
what if my female chow been stud 2x by pure chow then stud once by not pure breed whats going to be her puppies is it never pure chow2, huhu?
Got the same one
My chow hates to h alone. Not stupid just stubborn Does what she wants. Needs lot of exercise.
It's not true how you feel and think about Chow Chow.
If you start socializing at the right age, you will have a friendly, sociable, loyal and sweet dog.
Chows are the best!!! I had a chow that adopted and took care of baby rabbits. She was the most amazing dog I have ever encountered!
My chow chow loves my cats and wants to play with them. But my cats are always like "Mehh I dont wanna play with that 'thing' "
Same! My cat hates it when hes running around and teasing my cat. Haha!
🌺♥️♥️🌺🌺🇫🇮😊😊
I'm looking to buy a chow pup. If anyone can recommend a good chow breeder I would much appreciate it.
Where are you from?

Víctor M. : I purchased my Chow Chow from Florida. There’s lots of breeders in Florida. There’s some in Texas as well. Coni Tucker has some puppies ready for pick up in November. Send her a message from facebook messenger.
@@Fantasylikemines thank you very much for the advice. I looked up her name but there's many with the same name.
@@the5th.620 | She's an older lady with a pixie haircut and wears glasses in her profile picture. Her hair color can be described as red or orange. If you're still having trouble finding her, I will try my best to share her link to her facebook for you.
Are Chow Chows relatively easy to take care of?
ESPECIALLY THEY ARE VERY CLEAN AND EASY TO HOUSEBREAK!!
👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌!!!!
Looking for closed face chow chow in the chicago/midwest area. Anyone have any information please reply. TY
Yes plz suggest the good name chow chow
@@maliyaka found a place near indiana! getting it this week
Do you know chow chow bullied me in school
My 11 yr old female chow is puking every 2 to 3 days. Today I saw blood in her puke, she doesn't get bones for food, only dog food, water, and some chicken strips treats.
I am worried for her. Is she at the end of her life???
how is your dog now 😭
I hope she is still with you. Chows have an extremely high rate of stomach cancer. You can look it up. Like 30 times more likely than other breeds. My female died of it at age 12.
This video was brought to you by Samoyed Gang
He left out they bite.
