I lived in a farming community in rural Alberta Canada, it kind of took us longer to get these trends. We had no snap bracelets or jelly shoes. We only had three channels on tv, a party line phone line we had to share with our neighbors across the hiway. We did have an arcade in town and a radio shack and a video store. My brother in law had to put some additive stuff in his car because it was meant to run on leaded gas. Designer jeans were huge in our little community, mostly ordered out of the sears catalogue, to be picked-up a few weeks later, hi top basket ball shoes were a thing by the end on high school 1987 for me. We did still have the infamous lawn darts , we never had issues with lawn darts being dangerous. Any guy that owned a 1/2 ton pick up also had a rifle or shot gun in the back window, Most of the times loaded, we had no issue with that either. Fights were sorted man to man after school, behind the baseball back stop. Sorry started rambling, happy new year in 2 hrs here in Ireland.🇮🇪
I miss those 80s experiences,But I still have a few blast from the past.I still listen to my old records and still have an old cassette tape player and over 50 tapes I still listen to,I also have a VHS player so I can still enjoy my old video tapes,I still even have some of my old 8 track tapes and in search for a player that still works.one thing I do not miss is the old polaroid cameras,I much prefer digital cameras.I still miss the phone booths especially if my cellphone battery dies.I enjoy the sound of a good vinyl record, the tiny crackling sound while listening to them brings back some good memories...Believe it or not Some records to me sound better than an audio CD,,,I sure do miss those wonderful 80s.......Oh by the way,I would rather have an old Walkman than to use my smartphone for listening to music,A good old cassette player Walkman sounds so much better and cassettes do not have adds.......
It's great that you're keeping these memories alive and still enjoying them in the modern world. It's those little things that make the past feel so rich and real, right?
Mood rings came out in the 1970's, not in the 80's. Also mobile phones didn't really proliferate into the general population until the early 90's. Not sure if you mentioned big hair? Otherwise I enjoyed your vid!

Thank you for sharing such a vivid snapshot of your past. Happy New Year to you too, and may 2024 bring more great memories! 🎉😊
I turned 20 in 1980. The best decade ever! Loved the Bri-ish music invasion.
Truly a golden era! 🎶

@@Whoremembersusa Very true it is,Some times its hard to accept change but we all have to move on and accept the good things of growing older

You're absolutely right. Thanks for watching!
Lol my childhood. I was born in the 80’s
Yeah. Growing up then must have been a blast 🎶📼🎮
Another thing,,,GPS always takes you the long way to your destination, a paper map will give you the shortcuts if you can read them properly.......
It's a real skill that seems to be getting rarer, but definitely adds to the adventure! :)
