drove a hybrid and found it refreshingly nice. Was driving in the city, was as quiet as a tesla. The EV mode is nice. The one concerning thing i found was the lack of a real bumper on the rear, the trunk door is the bumper. A rear hit will require the entire liftgate to be replaced.
We bought a Tucson Hybrid and found the hybrid performance was night and day over the ICE version. No DCT or CVT transmission for us either. Many problems with other brands as well with DCT trans.
Bought the limited about 3 weeks ago. Love it but was not aware there was a hybrid version unfortunately. Still love the vehicle and I have had no issues at all.
I was going 74mph in hybrid. On 5 mile trip - 62 mpg, average 35mpg fully loaded with 5 people and full trunk. Btw, you can switch to 3 levels of Regen with paddles.
@@ptg01 no complaints. I’m not expecting sports car performance though. It has plenty to pickup coming out of intersections and the usual type of city driving we experience. So far we’ve left it in eco. Haven’t felt the need to try sports mode.
Even with regen mode on the highest setting, how far off is it from say a Tesla Model 3 with one pedal driving? Just wondering how much of a difference I should expect (and how much brake pedal use I should be expecting!).
You can't come to a complete stop with regen. It shuts off at single digit speeds. That said, the regen is impressive. The auto regen while in cruise control is really well done. It adjusts regen (instead of using the brakes) to maintain your following distance while in smart cruise control.
My father purchased a '24 Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy 3 weeks ago. Already had to have it towed back to dealership due to engine failure. Car had no electrical power, all sorts of error messages, and wouldn't exceed 12mph. Anyone else experience this yet?
Yes the young brothers on car confection bought one and there transmission lasted 20 minutes ,then got a replacement and went on a family trip and it failed again...for me remove all theses bells and whistle and install a heavy duty transmission and motor with good valves. period
WHILE THEY LAST! THERE HAVE BEEN MANY FAILURES ON THE 8 SPEED TRANS, TYPE IT IN ABOVE, SOME OF THE 8 SPEED TRANS LASTED 26 MILES, SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH THEM, GET THE HYBRID WITH THE 6 SPEED TRANS, U CAN THANK ME LATER.
I will not buy anything with a dual clutch transmission. Ford motor company literally ruined their passenger car line with this piece of shit transmission. The CVT is even better.

I just bought a 2025 SEL Hybrid. Love it. Getting 36 mpg.

That’s the case with any crossover unless the hit is like 2mph
That's for the insurance company and smash repairer to worry about if and when that ever happens.
@@anthonywarry Problem is that it'll hit the premium if a particular car model costs more to repair :(

Sales didn't get you to buy it? Same here . For some reason they avoid seeking u the hybrid version.😅
the hybrid actually is peppier than the 2.5 its amazing

I believe it! I did notice that you can switch the regen levels after I filmed this video. Great feature.

Great side by side review! I agree with you and went with a Hybrid Calligraphy FWD myself. There is nothing comparable at $50k.
Same here
I wanted an AWD limited or FWD Hybrid but ended up getting a Calligraphy AWD gas for less than invoice on a limited gas.
@@bfish9700I’m looking at purchasing the same. How do you like it so far?
Multiple people have had either engine failure or transmission issues that Hyundai just can’t seem to fix
only for DCt, with hybrid it's strong with traditional 6 speed
I can't unsee Ford flex with these. That said, still want one. Hybrid for an extra $500 is a no brainer if that's what it truly costs at dealer
If it was towed back 3 weeks ago I assumed the problem was resolved. Why don't you tell us what it was .
One of these limited hybrid trims sell for 48.5K in my area. A SEL for 43K. LOL don't bother. For that kind of money get a smaller luxury.
much better looking than a flex, closer to older defenders
FORD FLEX'S LOOK GOOD ALSO!
Got the gas one and i love it
Why is the video titled as a 2025 Santa Fe review when the window sticker clearly states that they are both 2024s?
2025's are identical to 2024 models. I will add a note in the comments. It just doesn't make sense to film the entire video again.
We've had our Hybrid Calligraphy for a few weeks now. Certainly not a perfect car as we find some minor usability worts living with it, but not bad.
How's the acceleration ?

@@OhTheNormanityI don’t feel the need to either, specially the first 1000 miles I don’t wanna push it too hard
You should’ve shown a limited trim or calligraphy. SEL trim is too stripped down. Missing a lot of features that upper trims have.
I have comparisons on the channel of those vehicles. This was the best I could do at the time that were equal.
Kind of bummer sel premium hybrid has nice features in last gen
Hyundai Elantra was Avante in America in 2009 & earlier now it is Elantra you also new Sonata all that models in America .
You can retrofit a spare. I've seen it done.
Great to know!

Great question. Let me get back to you tomorrow on how it compares to an EV.

All Trim levels available in America .
Hybrid is the right choice

@@rrr8945 Car Confections did not have the Hybrid model. It's a different transmission.
No and that’s unfortunate. I haven’t heard of any issues really with the hybrid power train. Sounds like it might just be a faulty battery.
I hope it turns out as a quick fix and a one time failure

The Hybrid has a normal 6 speed Auto transmission
