I don't know if the other Caribbean island use "Eggs " in their recipe..but in T&T granny don't put egg in or on their sweetbread. Nevertheless your looks very nice.

I always mix lemon or lime juice with sugar and brush it on the top and put it back in the oven for five minutes....that is what my grandmother did.
With all due respect to the other islands, I prefer T & T sweet bread.

My granny taught me to use the same soaked fruits from de black cake, in de sweet bread. It is so good!!!!

Can use either. Margarine is just cheaper than butter
