  • The Nissan Maxima has been given the title of 4-Door Sports Car by the brand. Under the hood is a 3.5L V6 producing 300 HP & mated to a CVT transmission. It's exterior was recently refreshed for extra style. On the inside the level of materials has been brought up to a new level. Doe the 2020 Nissan Maxima bring a good value to the FULL_SIZE car segment?

    I'm very happy with my new 2020 Maxima Platinum edition, this makes my third Maxima, I had a 1996 model then a 2011 and now this one is by far the best one I've owned, all have been pearl white and tan interior. It is very elegant.
    I really dig all the bells and whistles it has with all the extra cameras, and warnings makes it a fun ride!

    Selfishly speaking I LOVE my Maxima!!! It gives me all the needed specs that are pertinent to my personal lifestyle. Gives me enough power to stay out of jail. Personally, I hate paddles and ventilated seats feels like I have bengay on my ass. Then again I live in a colder climate so there’s no need for them. Although I use the hell out of the seat warming. Not all into engines but I have no issues with it. Then again I’m not comparing to anything else at the moment. The Maxima is a great city and travel car and should still be considered by anyone according to lifestyle

SL has sunroof with Bose sound system….interior is ok…was kinda simple, basic, and cheap looking in some ways. Lacks horsepower 2.4 liter engine CVT 182 HP….overall it was cool. The grill is the best looking part of the car. I switched it out for the Maxima…because Altima wasn’t fast enough. Maxima is a powerful car. 300 Hp V6….interior looks solid, sporty, and upscale. The gas mileage isn’t so bad either….The body style is sick….overall great performing car! DOPE asf

  • @brettarmstrong1564
    @brettarmstrong1564 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Joe man love your videos. Not sure if you knew this about the 2020 maxima or not because this review is on the SL trim, which believe it or not is one step lower then the SR. The higher trims do actually have paddle shifters which one big thing you zonked and it also has ventilated seats as well. Paddle shifters are reserved for the SR trim because of the fact that it's the designated sport trim for model. It doesnt make too much sense to have it on all the trim levels. Also, I have a CVT and have had one for the last 10 years AND it's on a nissan product and it's one of the most reliable transmission systems that I've ever had and I've had many. It may be whiny like you say sometimes but it the best on economy and reliability which is why Nissan will never go back to what they had before. It wouldn't be smart.

    I don't think the wheel design looks bland at all. At 18" they look a little small though. Crazy to think that an 18" looks small these days, when just a few years ago it seems, 15" was pretty standard for family sedans and you had to go aftermarket for something larger. Then again, modern sedans all look huge in comparison. Maxima has a pretty cool and unique look. Interior is nicer than I thought as well.

      I think the Camry and Accord are technically in the midsize class, but don't quote me on that. I would much rather have the new Avalon, especially the TRD version. The Avalon also isn't saddled with a CVT transmission. I do like the interior styling of the Maxima. The exterior, only in certain colors. Imo, the Maxima design is trying to be too many things and ends up really busy as a result.

    My sister just traded in her 2017 Nissan Maxima for a newer one. Although i sincerely hate that damn CVT transmission, that naturally aspirated V6 engine feels so good. The vehicle is beautiful inside and out. The leather feels so soft, gauges and infotainment screen look good too.
    But that engine is the star here. This is the perfect example of a V6 being more than enough power. Better than a lot of the competition hands down.

    I am considering this year and model for a different reason. I am not looking for a 4 door sports car, I am looking for a 4 door family car that can move when I need it to if I am getting in and out of traffic, especially on the highways in Florida, and the interior needs to be quiet and well refined. So far its the top contender, I really did not like the Acura TLX A-Spec, that dual clutch is brutal, the Camry XSE and Avalon were just Camry's that switched from vanilla to vanilla bean, the Buick Regal GS would be a competitor if I could find more on them, and their reliability comes into question. The last competitor to this in my lineup is the Hyundai Sonata Limited, its got the gas mileage and the exterior styling is nice, excellent bang for the buck, but its gonna come down to the test drive that I will be taking after I have posted this.

    Just got the SL trim. Man oh man, the speakers and the speed idk about a damn cvt but this thing is so nice. I upgraded from an Acura TL but I kept it. It’s a 2012. One thing I noticed there is no jolt when the gear is changing so it can really fool you for speed it’s overdoing. You might think your doing 40 but it’s actually pushing somehow 70. One thing i don’t like the that when the gears switch it does not give it that jolt, other than that perfect. ESP for an everyday drive. But I am a regular consumer and even I know it’s not a true sports car. I drove the q50, 20 the tlx 19 the red sport 18 and a m2. and it does not feel like those at all. In a overview since I got it new i tried to feel it out and it gettys up really damn fast and pretty sure any random car like an accord or Camry or even a tlx pre 21 will get dumped on by this.
