    I finally got mine installed after having them sit on the shelf for several months. A few tips. The old parts were difficult to pull out. I just put a vice grip on it, and got it out easy after twisting it with the Allen wrench a few turns. Nezt, I loosened the clutch and front brake mount assemblies so I could move them up and down as well as in or out. Then after loose assembly, I could move the pieces around easily for perfect fit. I did have to bend the left bar in slightly for best fit.

    Removing the stock handlebar weights was a bitch of a job, a real PITA. My BarkBusters are still on their way. Not sure what the Kawasaki engineers were thinking of when they designed those handlebar weights. Those things could pass for front suspension components. Thanks Kawasaki!

    I installed the T-Rex Racing version of the aluminum bars and then the Barkbuster plastic that came as one system. The removal of the stock bar weights wasn't to bad but where things got sideways is the install instructions that came with the T-Rex aluminum backbone bars said to watch a TH-cam video which I did but it wasn't thorough enough. The parts with the bar kit weren't going to work and the go to video was not showing that the stock internal bar weight needed to go back into the bar then the provided screw was to long and bottomed out in the internal stock bar weight so I had to cut the bolts. And another half hour of trial and error I got them all assembled. I remember putting Barkbusters on my Yamaha YZ250 years ago and it was a mess also.

      The Barkbusters hand guard which I installed have been originally designed for the Versys 300x. Installation was reasonable easy apart from removing the bar weights, studied the instructions before attempting installation, ensuring necessary tools required where on hand & so on. Happy with end result.

    Thanks for the video. This is next on my list along with heated grips. I do lots of cool and wet weather riding here in Vancouver. This is gonna help me with both. Thanks again.

      Man, I have a 2020 X300 I recently put on the kawasaki clone crash bars for one hundred dollars, and I just put on shinko 804/805 big block tires, smoother than the stock tires, because kawasaki dose not balance the original tire's, go figure !

    you have put something to extend the windshield? i put the same handguards (vps) but the right one rests on the windshield, it seems like the steering wheel could turn more to the left..you have also noticed something like this?

    Great video! Thanks so much for posting it! I’ve heard a lot of chatter about how removing the admittedly huge bar weights to install handguards greatly increases vibration on the 300. Have you found this to be true?

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@markcollins5026 Did the Givi hand guards come with weights? I’m hoping the Barkbusters do the job, but re-inserting the OEM bar weights might be an option if vibration becomes an issue. Cheers

      @markcollins5026 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DodgerMohr no the Givi guards do not come with weights, you reinstall the original weights and then install the Givi guard's, that'll why I got the Givi guard's to keep the bar weights in !

      @@DodgerMohr there is another extra bar weights you can get from barkbusters that sits in the outside of the bars, also you can use the inside part of the OEM bar weights and just leave them inside if the problem still persist. i will be installing them on next week so ill let yuou know what i eneded up doing, but i aready have the external weights from barkbusters because i like the look of them on. not cheap tho

    Curious how much more vibration you feel through the hand grips after removing the OE bar weights?
    I am considering removing the bark busters and putting the OE bar weights back in as my vibration is excessive, especially on the clutch side.
    This said, thanks for the install videos. I did the crash bars, foot pegs and center stand also. I was ready for it all thanks to you.
    All good but the excessive vibration in the hand grips after bark busters.
    All the best.

    a bit of loctite medium strength threadlocker will prevent those front screws ever loosening on dirt roads, just an idea for ya's,cheers

    Thanks for the video. Good job. Agreed removing the bar end weights is a bitch! I'm curious if the replacement of the stock bar end weights with the BB end weights affects the amount of vibration. When you've had a chance to ride, let us know, thanks.

      I've installed mine a month ago and I noticed a bit more fuzziness especially on the right side mirror (???). Other than that not too bad. They also sell additional bar end weights if vibration is still too much after installation.
