Sir if LAI is 3 then we will cover the unit ground area 3 times by the leaves. Then how we can conclude that 3 is optimum for A crop and 5 is optimum for another crop ?? Plz reply sir

I think we check the production of per plant of the crop,then we say that what is optimum 3 or 5.
