Being a patreon member of Lisa the Ukulele Fool has given far more benefits and joy than I could ever repay. This is a great treatment of a song I really love and I appreciate both the simple and spicier versions. Lisa has something for everyone, all levels.
Thank you so much for your support! The Patreon community makes my channel possible. There is no way I could sustain these videos doing it all on my own.
Dear Lisa, look, I learned this song a few years ago but I always thought something was missing, it wasn't complete. When I heard you playing the "spicy" version of this song I said, that's what was missing! I'm so glad you made this tutorial. Thank you very much❤️🎶🌷
This was fun to play, Lisa. I felt that my chucking was getting better during the song. I could play the more difficult play-along not perfectly but reasonably OK. I enjoyed hearing that you teach philosophy. A big thank you. 😀
I love your videos. They have made my ukulele learning journey very enjoyable. The advanced version of this song that you presented was just right for being hard enough to be a challenge but not so hard as to be discouraging. Well done and thanks for all of your work!
love this tutorial, thank you Lisa, I've been practising over and over. I love the "spicy" version too! And learning the little riffs has been great practice.
My husband totally agrees - He loves CCR. Here's Bad Moon Rising - th-cam.com/video/85qlX35al0s/w-d-xo.html Down on the Corner - th-cam.com/video/IZplO58Og-c/w-d-xo.html
Just playing this month's beginners jam and tried to play along with Mary on Have You Ever Seen the Rain. Oh dear! I was completely out of sync with her. Looking at your tutorial, I find I have never played it. I know this because there is no 'like' nor any comment! So, one to work on. So glad I am with you Lisa.
I am confused with playing this song "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" On your instruction at beginning of tutorial, you advise to use a two beat strum. But, in play-a- long for easy version, it looks & sounds like you are using the Cowboy strum. I must admit my lack of musical theory knowledge. Does the Cowboy strum fall into category of a two beat strum? That riff is really challenging for me. But, I will keep working on it. I thought that this song would be a piece of cake. But, it is more difficult than it looks. So, I guess the kindest thing to say is that I am perfectly normal. I am working on upgrading my playing of this. I can't do the chuck, but I do the quick cording motion of Am to G to F. Sounds pretty good even without the chuck.
The cowboy strum is a two beats drum. But it’s played with a little bit more flair. Doing the bounce on the top two strings for the first down strum and swinging the next down up. I am guilty of putting style into a two bit strum, rather than keeping it straightforward and simple. If I was doing that I apologize..
