I work commercial construction, and the number of pallets that get tossed in the dumpster throughout a job can be quite sizable. What an interesting alternative.
Not all pallets are the same. So for mulch around flowers, shrubs etc is great. Some contain chemicals, pesticides and harmful to you and food products. If this isnt seperated then none of this should be used in a food garden bed. The label/stamp on pallets will tell you if they are food grade or chemical.
Fun video, Jason! Around me they feed pallets into a tub grinder with an excavator and thumb. Mag conveyor the ferrous metals off and spray it down with dye.
Shred tires. They actually bring a fair amount of money, if you have a buyer. If not, it'd still make a good video. And they do have uses around the shop. If you have really dusty floors and sweeping just kicks up dust. You can throw a couple handfuls of the shredded rubber on the floor, and move it around with a push broom to keep the dust from flying everywhere.
I love a good shredder, but in this instance wouldn't it be more efficient to burn the pallets (using the heat generated for a purpose) and pick out the metal from the ashes?
People need kindling to keep warm in cold months. Why not process pallets into 1"x 4" kindling, rebrand it into 5 pound sacks for sale for campers and outdoorsman, backyard campfires etc.?
@@nicknite7475I thought about this for camp wood as a hobby but folks would have to trust that the pallet I took apart and chipped up isn't treated, that's bad for burning. So I myself just burn the pallets and stand back. No reason other than to get rid of them and recover nails with the roofing magnet.
@@dionh70 How many processes to get those shreds are too many? What uses are there for shredded wood that would make this more efficient than getting it as a by-product rather than a designated product?
In a previous video I saw you shred cardboard using your new shredder. Similar to processing the wood pallets, would it be possible and/or practical to run the cardboard through the Hammer-mill to get a smaller shred? OR would it clog up the Hammer-mill?
You got to be careful with pallets. Most are fine for mulch, but a fair number either have been treated to resist rot or contaminated with whatever they carried and are no good for mulch or burning.

Find a woodworking hobbyist they’ll eat them up
Sadly they also frown upon dumpster diving around my neck of the woods.
A hammer mill is Jason's answer to everything. I must admit it would solve a lot of my problems too!
Probably not the right way to get rid of a corpse.
@Rich-on6fe not the 'right' way but would likely work...
Thank You for sharing all these recycling alternatives Jason.
Best Wishes to You, Your Family and Friends for the Holiday Season !

You might want to make a pellet making machine to go with that system.
Yikes. The thought of someone using that chemically treated wood in compost or even mulch is disturbing.
Entièrement d'accord avec toi, quelle honte
The overwhelming majority of pallets are not treated.
The 2× boards were likely treated though.
@@BradleyBellwether-oy2qice n'est pas du tout ce qui est montré dans la vidéo malheureusement.
0:52 you can hear Jason's pet huskies in the background of the under the shredder shot. 🤣
That was cool !!!

Jason is turning into a giant sized verson of the "Will it Blend?" guy 😂😂😂
Show the nail coming off the belt please.
I was waiting for it, too! Lol
Run a finer screen on the hammer mill then add a pellet press to make wood pellets.
I need this shredder.
I'm ready to watch you shred anything
You're gonna have to make a new channel of just crushing all kinds of stuff through the grinder. I'll watch that for sure!
Need a Christmas ham thrown in that thing lol Happy Holidays!!
Can you run old tires and recover the steel belting?
Tires would be interesting.
Maybe you could come up with a system to make pellets for wood stoves.
What would be the best machine to shred / pulverise organic waste?

Shredded wood has a huge number of uses, far beyond simply burning and putting carbon back into the atmosphere.
No

Shredder, hammermill cross belt magnet into a pelletiser ... Be good for pellet burners
Wow! How is that shredder with green slash?
How does the shredder do on ore? Would it be finer than the crusher?

I was promised gold bars, GOLD BARS!!!
😭 " This isn't the free content i want ! "
a tub or horizontal grinder works better.
Tires.
How clean was the steel fraction that was separated by the mag belt?
Lots of those pallets are hardwood. Can you make a pellet machine that makes pellets for wood stoves?
Don't listen to this with headphones😅 Nails on a chalkboard

Aluminum transmission and other aluminum auto parts
grind it!
Aluminum from ? Great job as always keep up with the great work 👍 thanks
What is the Price Aprox on One of this Machines
Need to build one for tires!?
These videos lately show that if you have a hammer (mill), everything looks like a (pallet with) nail 🤪
💪😎💪
Do you plan on selling these machines in a stackable configuration?
Sluice that wood
A lot of pallets are treated with nasty chemicals
This really bothered my ears
😭 " i'm not smart enough
to adjust the volume ! "
@richardlincoln8438 it's the squeaking of the wood, not volume 🤠
@@Luis-sx8ef
" 🤤 Gee, turning the volume down has no effect on the squeaking so i am going to just be bothered by it then cry and moan ! "
@richardlincoln8438 🤣🤣 bro, are you a comedian?
