If a big guy wants to fight you, you need to go pre-emptive. You need to strike first. You're at a disadvantage if your opponent is larger than you and you must understand that. Just because you're smaller does not mean you cannot defend yourself and get out alive.
In fact, there are many tricks you can use against a big guy who wants to fight you.
If your opponent has not invaded your space yet, remain passive. If he begins to come straight at you, footwork could come of use. Moving around while still remaining in a calm stance is a good trick you can use. Once he has invaded your space, then it is time to go pre-emptive.
With bigger guys, it is best if you create an opportunity to catch your opponent off guard and strike him fast. Performing a low kick will make him focus on that for a second, which allows you the opportunity to elbow or palm strike your attacker! It must be a very powerful blow though.
Performing a head butt or an elbow strike to a larger attacker is also an excellent way to strike back.

As a small guy ( 22 years old. 5,7. 145-150 pounds. ), my mindset is try to defuse a situation to avoid an altercation. Not being a punk but if there is another option to end a situation that doesn't involve fighting then I'll take it. If not then I have no choice but to fight. I like phrase "you win some, you lose some but you live to fight another day". ( which is a quote from the movie "Friday"). I'll fight regardless of size or fighting style but I'll never be the guy to go looking for a fight. As a person who was bullied as a kid, I won't go around treating people like shit to give me a reason to fight. Never. I'll fight only to defend myself. I haven't been in a fight in almost 5 years so I'm thankful. I try to avoid violence but I'll defend myself if I need too.

Dont be afraid to fight dirty. If it was a fair fight a big dude would pick on someone their size, with that being said, don't think they're not gonna fight dirty out of embarrassment if you start giving them more trouble than they expected (personal experience).

Then you are dealing with a large strong experienced trained fighter and should very seriously consider a fast exit strategy. If you are physically and strategically outmatched you will only lose. The bright side is an experienced fighter is not necessary looking to kill you and knows when it's over. You'll be eating through a straw for 6 months, but he won't intentionally kill you.. then again.... It depends on the situation. If you gave his mom the clap, knocked up his sister, and turned out his little brother, you better run like hell and pray he isn't faster than you or packing a weapon.

I love the emphasis on keeping back. This is what I learned. You wait for him to close the gap and give yourself time to react. I love the guys that think they are superman and want to put their face right up close to you. Another technique I learned is once a person is close enough for you to apply the elbow, you can deliver a really hard back hand upward strike to the groin that he'd never see. As he's doubling over from the groin strike, a simple upward elbow strike or as the video shows a head butt.

this reminds me of an altercation I've had some years ago. I am a small guy - 5'4" 150
a significantly larger (jackass) wanted to pick a fight with me. he came into my personal space (straight up in my face) He was the one who tried to head butt me from there. Reflexes and intuition is very helpful.:) I actually "sensed'' that, he is going to try and head butt me. and i was able to lean (move my head to the side, just enough for him to miss me.as he attempted to hit me :)

How did it end? You have the same size as me. I'm curious, maybe I can learn from your experience. I'm a woman, and I get scared to death when I'm near big guys because I was threatened by one. He cursed me and tried to block my way (I was just passing by, don't even looked at him). He clearly took advantage of his height to scare me. Luckly, there were a lot of people around, so l managed to walk away. If it happens again, I'd rather be able to teach the big macho a lesson.

Right on! Also ppl seem to forget that NOBODY really enjoys sharp, intense pain, no matter how big some guy is, they still have nerve endings and joints. I've also seen big guys knocked out with the same force that could knock me, or any smaller guy out. Just don't get stuck inside with a big guy, unless he's already really tired. Don't want bearhugged and then uprooted, you won't walk away. So, start with ANYTHING fast, followed with Extreme violence. Once out of harms way, just Run, there could be more ppl comin or a previously undisclosed gun, knife etc...

    • @harveypratt995
      @harveypratt995 ปีที่แล้ว

Get the big guy to take it outside if you can. You will have room to move, tire him out and giving him no place to pin you anywhere. Inside he has the advantage. In no time you get pinned against a bar pool table trip over chairs and tables. Inside you're in his world. Outside keep moving throwing quick strikes getting in and out. Once he's tired he'll be frustrated and won't know what to do. That's when you go in fast and hard blowing out his knees. Then kidney liver and head shots. Don't feel bad if his knees are screwed up for life. Just keep in mind what he was trying to do to you.
I usually avoid fights at all costs. Some guys are good at striking a nerve. When they tell me they're going to kick my ass I have an answer. I'm sure you'd like to and I'm gonna let you try but I won't let you. Another thing. I was raised not to trash talk. I just stay quiet. I began to realize a lot of people take this as a sign of fear and weakness. It makes them more cocky and they leave themselves less guarded.

I trained in karate for years. As an older man my flexibility was not good but power wise I'm good. Sparring with a much bigger young man I found that to deliver low side kicks to the knee thigh area hit with sickening force. This is illegal in sparring but in a street situation you only need to kick no more that 2 or 3 feet in height.

Yes, the best advice in situations like that is to go for a preemptive head butt or some other devastating dirty fighting move - since it’s basically your life on the line. But there is a problem here, for a head butt to be extremely effective one needs to create an element of surprise first. The idea being to create a distraction that offers the opportunity for a devastating dirty move. Spitting in the face of the opponent first creates the perfect element of surprise, taking the opponent off guard and giving you the opportunity to deliver a killer blow.

Your best defense is always less ego.
As far as I'm concerned if you end up in a fight you're both losers.
Stop practicing how to hit people and start learning emotional maturity instead. That will make a difference in every aspect of your life.
Remnants in your DNA from time to time will remind you that you were once just an animal. But evolution has given you a gift to release you from this lower status.
You should recognize this and take pride and appreciate that you are lucky to be human. You have a chance to live at a higher-level don't waste it.
Move forward with intelligence. Ego is not your friend. Don't allow ego to take control of your actions. Dont revert back to the lower status of being an animal.

If you carry a firearm you have another option. When faced with disparity of force (larger attacker). Immediately start backing away and saying that you want to be left alone (or verbal commands such as stay back!). If the person continues to press forward you can draw your firearm at that point. The fight will be over unless of course the dude is completely insane and keeps coming. Then you just double tap to the chest and that's that. I carry so I don't have to fight. Remember, just one punch to the head from someone can kill you. Make no mistake, an unarmed attacker is still lethal. The human body is incredibly fragile and the older you get the more likely you can be beaten to death.

I enjoy watching these videos because I am a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and these remind me of what it was like to practice martial arts. I was confronted a long time ago by four much larger, much older guys that were basically doing nothing more than looking to fight someone much smaller than them. I tried to talk them down from such a stupid and unfair fight and warned them that I was a skilled and trained fighter and they did not believe me, as in this did not deter them from wanting to fight me. Long story short, I broke the first guy's elbow, broke the other guy's jaw, held the third guy in a submission move (arm behind the back, nose to the ground, and the fourth guy went and got the cops...he was the biggest dude and he went and got the cops...anyway, lawyer requisitioned the traffic cams in court, bad guys got many, many charges, I went home. Three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of causing bodily harm, and three counts of simple assault with intent to cause bodily harm is a serious offense. Point: do your best to diffuse the situation but if you must fight, do whatever you have to do to defend yourself. Just be careful out there and use your head. God bless.

I have trained taekwondo for over over 5 years and i am red belt. Cant u feel that if any one wants to fight u could kick his ass easley even with out usinf the kicks. Recently i fought a boy who is in my class taller and weights more than me and he attacked me first punched me in the ear and jumped on me the right side on my shoulder he kept grabing my nick then i just punched him like 5 times in the face i rolled over and started hitting every where and when the teachers came to pull i gave him my fatalaty i kicked him in the chin (the goe icant spell it) and then he cried like a baby i screamed at him wanna fight ha come here fight he refused and i kicked his ass and there is blood beside of his eye. Taekwondo Realy gave me strength in my body. I just realised that.

I would use a distraction technique, example: If he's ready to fight you like yell ,"DON'T HIT HIM!" and look to his side. I guarantee he would look behind himself thinking another person is behind him and you could attack or run when he turns around. Or fake having a heart-attack he may help you than you could attack. ( I'm not recommending you doing that just to fight) but if you feel threatened buy some time, then to go preemptive when you get the chance.

Do not get close against a bigger stronger opponent. He will grab you and then once he has a hold of you he has a huge advantage. What you want to do is use your speed to stay on the outside and make him swing and miss and then counter punch him. You do not want to get up close and personal into a grappling match with a dude who is a lot stronger than you and also taller so he can bare down on you.
Move using your feet and once you see an opportunity to counter punch (when he misses and is vulnerable, easier said than done) then you jump in and hit him hard and fast. If it hurts him keep going if it doesn't wobble him jump back and continue. If you do happen to end up close to him, you have to utilize things like eye gouging (or eye pokes) and kicking/hitting him in the balls.
You might be able to beat somebody at close range but you do not want to take that chance unless you have to. Most average guys who are big are not very good strikers. They will take big long swings which you can easily dodge and counter. No point in getting into grappling/grabbing range and letting them use their main advantage over you (strength).

I replied and said I'm fine and then he said you did the right thing... But was that the right thing to do? Can someone please give me advice cause if this happens again.. No, no, no. That was all wrong! You gotta make the most out of what could potentially be a fabulous situation. Instead you should have gently grabbed and massaged his nuts and whispered in to hear ear softly saying "bitch, I'm fabulous". Then winked at him and do a runway model "full turn" and walk away swinging your hips from side to side. I guarantee, he'll be the one asking you out on your first date. Always works for me in an aggressive encounter with a would be assailant... Remember, it's all in the full turn and walk away. Here are some tips. th-cam.com/video/KYHZewGP8sA/w-d-xo.html

I fought a lot when I was a kid but these days I avoid bad people and bad places. I inform people that I don't want any trouble. I'll swallow my pride if that's what it takes to avoid a fight. If the opposition insists that there's going to be a problem then I'll tell him/them to leave me the f*** alone and we'll all go home tonight. I've never had it go past that point nor do I ever want it to. I'm willing to take it a step further than he is because that's what it would take to survive, however far he chooses that to be. Once it's done there's no turning back. It can't be undone. The consequences are the consequences but I'm not getting my ass kicked. If I feel as though my kids are in danger.....there will not be any talking. Just leave people the f*** alone because you have no idea who the hell you're talkin to. It might be some cold blooded maniac who is willing to make you his 20th murder victim. Whatever it is it's not worth dying over or spending the rest of your life in prison.

My brother showed me a move in 11th grade. Let the guy come close . Appear passive. Quickly move into the guy as you lower your upper body. Wrap your arms around the guys back and pull in the back of his waist quickly with both hands locked together. It interrupts the nerve signal connection between his lower back and his legs. He goes back and down very quickly. The result is that he gets disoriented and alarmed because the rug has just been pulled out from him. I did this move on a kid who had it in for me. He was a widebody with 50 lbs on me. I'll never forget the shocked looked on his face and his subsequent instant surrender.

Tips from my side Im not a trainer or a professional so I might have it totally wrong. Im 5'9 and 130 pounds but i have an amateur boxing background. First of all when someone gets agressive towards you or your friends, family or even wife just try to talk and dont even think about fighting or getting emotional put your total focus on the threat and try to talk it off really reasonably and mature avoid touching him or letting him get too close to you only when it feels like the situation is getting calmed down. If it doesnt work and he still is agressive he is either drunk or is not really that big of a threat for you anymore because only an inexperienced and badly skilled fighter would refuse an opportunity to calm it down and get overconfident and now you have total contral and ucan punch him till he falls down. Obviously this doesnt work in all situations. And dont be holding back when you punch it has to be full force. These are just some mind games to determine if your opponent can fight or not. there are a lot of other various things that could happen or that could go wrong so always be careful but not too much hehe

The thing about using a head but is to consider your training on that, you are striking your head against the opponents head in hopes of hurting them or knocking them out but what about your head? What if you hurt them but end up knocking yourself out? Not you are out on the ground knocked out with a hurt and pissed off opponent.......yeah, consider having to use your fist or foot to break boards or bricks to advance to the next belt in Martial arts? You don't start with bricks and before you punch boards your doing push ups on your knuckles for weeks to prep your hands so you can do that and if you want the same success then start training to be able to do a head strike without you knocking yourself out in the process

Forget the kick to the side of the knee, go with a front kick to the groin always, and as he bends in pain you jump back a bit a send another fierce front kick to the under chin like an uppercut. That should stop him, and as he's falling back or to the side you can hit once more and run like hell.

Kuntry King Nah, I think low racial IQ, high murder rates, and well... basically Chicago would be the best.

Kuntry King Not really statistically. Why don't you look at the murder rate demographics per capita or violent crime in general then come back to me. On a weekend, Chicago kills more. Detroit too.

Well from my personal experience ... This guy 6ft5 and clearly 250 or more lbs walks up to me grabs me by the throat , I smile and walk forward 2 steps and strike him in the temple with my finger tips of right hand . let's just say he fell faster then his hat and sunglasses ,then he looked up at me as I ask " ya want more"? I doubt he'd ever do that again .

Throat punch, inside leg kick with a knee break, fights over. Or eye poke, groin kick, temple punch.
