Larry Bird was told to quit the 3pt contest by team management because it screwed up his game shot for a few weeks around the contest because he was practicing it, and they lost a few games because he missed some shots he normally drained. It is just a different shot then you use in a game.

Such hypocrisy...this is exactly why we say that CC is no savior to the WNBA as she currently is, because she isn't bringing fans to the WNBA, she's bringing her followers. The problem with followers is that they won't stick around, y'all go with the trends. The league won't grow unless all the followers CC has transition into WNBA fans that support the league, not just CC.

Last year the all-star game attendance was under 9500. This year the arena was sold out! Clark did grow the game!
It was the WNBA's job to have invited Caitlin, not at the last minute as an after thought, but a few weeks before the event. Did someone in the head office suddenly realize if they wanted tv viewers, they needed to invite Clark, and that's why they were scrambling at the last minute? And when she said no, they decided to punish her by rescinding her Player of the Week award? With their attitude toward Clark this season, I wouldn't put it past them.
It appears that it's the WNBA who has been dropping the ball when it comes to growing the game. Clark hasn't, at any time, applied for that job.
She's a 22-year-old rookie just trying to find her feet in the league. What ever made you think it's her job to grow the league! She's at the very bottom of the league's hierarchy, only making around $50k a season after taxes! The WNBA has been around longer than she's been alive. I would think, as the adult, it would be their responsibility to make the right decisions to grow the league. It's obvious, when it comes to Clark, that it is the league who has the record for most turnovers. Lol.
