- Detailed overview of Nobisco, the largest SimCity region I've ever created. It has a regional population of around 19.5 million people and has been an on-and-off 10 year work of progress. The geography is a scaled-out render of San Diego, California's topography. Shout-out to Simtropolis.com for the plugins to boost realism. The soundtrack is from SimCity 4 Deluxe. Enjoy!

No kidding, this needs to be archived and saved into the cloud or, a virtual museum or something like that so we can preserve such wonderful grand scale and virtual masterpieces and many like this for future generations to be in awe and inspired to make great stuff like this, imho.

I remember when my dad played this game back when I was little. He made a 10million region population. And the traffic flow was superbly good, no traffic jams and more room to develop.

simcity 5 already so good. but it lacks the area. We all agree that cities skylines better than simcity 5 because simcity 5 map is soooo small.

I think the franchise is dead in the hands of EA, but someone can buy it, maybe urban games or firaxis, they are the only ones I can think of besides paradox that would have engines suitable for such a game.
This makes me miss this game. I love Cities: Skylines, but the SimCity games up to SC4 always had some special “it” factor that made them so cool. I think it’s that they really went for a realistic look, while it seems Colossal Order opted more for a cartoony look. When you replace most of the vanilla assets, you start to get something more like SC4. It’s too bad about Maxis...

@@Kalosius Yea, things like those "governor stuff" that gave you adivce, minigames, things like military base etc. It was something that made the game more "real". You could get the feeling that something is really happening in the town. My favorite were car crashes on busy streets...
I miss the economical micromanaging and the poor slums. Skylines doesnt have that.

Music, the music in SC4 is absolutely outstanding
But the charm the game has also Cities lacks on both.
Even being a fantastic game it still lacks charm.
The thing that amazed me the most is that this was uploaded in 2020. I thought the game died but gladly it didn't I guess...
Take a look at simtropolis forums, the game is pretty much alive and well with constant new mods and people interacting there! One of the best communities to be part of
2024 and now there's a breakthrough in SC4 modding. Looks like we can expect another decade.
Me and my brother have played simcity since 2006 on the same region, and we are still playing it. Without a extra map mode, we have a region with around 13 million people in it.

This is a work of art. The early 2000s/ late 90s were such a great time. Games from that time are in a league of their own.. Things really were simpler and people hadn't totally lost their marbles. Miss it 😪

This music triggers so much nostalgia in me. I played this game a ton as a kid. And this city is just unbelievable. I’m absolutely blown away by the scale of this.

@@mikeyreza Cities Skylines is basically what Simcity 2013 is only less restrict, and the gameplay is perfectly fine for what it's trying to be, hell, I just like the fact the game simulates every single cim in the city even if that means having a small pop cap, but still.
Like sure Cities Skylines will never hold a candle to the sim city series, but for what it is not to mention having a stellar modding scene? I think it's a great modern city builder game for those who want to get into the genre before jumping into Simcity 4.

I have played SimCity 4 a lot in the past. It has a special place in my heart. I gotta say, you are my God.
It even portrayed actual crimes in areas that had no police coverage. More realistic than any high graphics city building game to date. I played this as a kid and need this back in my life

Absolutely amazing, I will never be able to figure out all of the modifications and accessories necessary to run the game like this and create cities and regions like that.

I would love to watch a "lets play" series from someone with your expertise. I've never been able to get to a point where skyscrapers get built. I usually go bankrupt before that

Holy jeez, Ive been trying a similar project, and I've spent maybe all of 5 years on it (started it abkut 12 years ago, but drop itnfor a while, andperiodically pick it back up.) This absolutely blows mine completely outnof the water!

I loved playing Sim city 4. My only complaint was that the individual sub regions of the map were too small. If EA ever remastered Sim City 4 and made the map this big. I'd definitely buy that game.

I like this map. It’s actually where I live in San Diego. I need to download this region. It seems like it gets cut off in the La Jolla area. Pity, there’s so much more city above it. It looks like the region goes all the way down to Imperial Beach by the border. Awesome.

It's certainly interesting to see Fiesta Island all built up with development while Clairemont and other neighborhoods north of the 8 are practically empty
I live in Murrieta just an hour drive from San Diego and saw the clear stand in for the military airport on North Island, which made me look closer. Then when I saw the canal and mission bay, I knew. XD
Oh my god, I left SimCity4 after the Skyline of Cities came out, but watching this video, I still remember it vividly like I did yesterday, such as high-rise residential buildings, city hall buildings, and university buildings. It's such a memory. This game was the first one to tell me about an urban simulation game, so I played it for a long time. I didn't plan it that way, but I filled the entire map to some extent, but I thank this video for bringing back the memories. The BGM is better because it's music from that time.

I love playing this game but I love watching wonderful cities like that a lot more. They always look so amazingly detailed and real, yet at the same time like one of those cute model train dioramas that people built as a hobby. That's why this game beats all modern city builder games in my opinion, because it has this perfect mixture of realism and detailing as well as cute toy-like visuals and openness for unlimited creativity.

I spent hours upon hours of my life playing this game. Each city had to be its own kind of perfect. This city is a work of art. Unique and in its own league, just awesome.
Very cool, I’m just sat here thinking about how part of the landscape could be imported into The Sim 2 haha, I wish there was an amalgamation of both games, I remember watching the trailer to SimVille whenever I’d install Sims 1 as a kid and being hyped to play it one day, not knowing it’d already been canceled for over half a decade at that point.
You can actually move Sims into your city in SimCity 4!

Absolutely amazing! I stopped playing SimCity 4 reluctantly when I could no longer get it to work on current versions of Windows. Though I love Cities: Skylines and have logged close to 1000 hours in it, I really miss the incredible architecture from SimCity 4 (both the vanilla buildings and custom assets that people contributed), the quirky soundtrack, and the more sophisticated demand/wealth system that made growing huge downtowns like this an actual challenge - three areas where Cities: Skylines just doesn't compare.

I would fallen in love to fly with my helicopter over this region. I miss SimCopter. Back in the days, I built entire cities in Sim2k just to fly around with some good classic music (SimRadio 4 with weird radio ads).

I've played this game (very modestly) for around 15 years and today it's basicly the only pc game I play, it's one of my favorite distractions, it's part of my life. So, I've seen a lot of amazing things pro players did out there... But I've never, ever seen anything this incredible. You, my friend, are a legend. A legend.
