Omg ! Im Norwegian born and saw her many times absolutely amazing effort that she was ever built , Sadly i do not have any pix of her She was just collessel on every scale no matter what angle you looked at her from , Been trying for more than 12 months to find anything on her & stumbled across this video by complete accident ,couldn't believe it until i saw and watched the video i didnt even know she had been scrapped i was guttered 10 yrs later i found out how she met her fate by complete accident , sadly she was only a single hull nowadays all tankers have to be dbl hulled for environmental purposes and in case of running aground but considering the JAHRE VIKING was in any language one of the last mega structures to be built. Thanks so much for posting this ' Tribute' of her now in my favorites collection .

I had the memorable experience of loading from this tanker when it was known as Seawise Giant. My vessel was London Glory, a mere 140,000ddwt. She looked like any other tanker from a distance but as we got closer it just got bigger. Dwarfed us as we lay alongside her stbd side. That was offshore Mexico, late '70s or 'early '80s.

Thanks for posting this video. It was so sad that the sea wise giant has been scrap. Truly this is the biggest ship ever built and no ship ever came close to it when it comes size and length. Longer than the empire state building of USA. If this massive sea vessel did not sunk during Iran-Iraq war well this vessel still running today.

No phone, electricity, heat, air conditioning, use of anything plastic, no man made anything. Clothing, food, housing, and you never been or used a vehicle? Highly doubt it! First you have a phone or computer. You are using electricity and batteries. So quit being selfish and critical when we know you're not. You are here making comments aren't you? So Sid you're a fraud! Just face it you're just like the rest of us depend on modern technology and times. You idiots are a dime a dozen! Buh bye. Like your own comment too. I'm sure of it. Pathetic

What’s amazing and not the subject of this video. They now paint the decks of tankers white rather than the old red they used to. The difference in temperature of the deck because of the reflective ability of white. The lower the temperature the less evaporation of product.

As interesting as this video was. the Trance selections were epic! Why the f**k nightclubs do not play Trance anymore is so tragic. Down south where I live its all crappy Hip Hop and so called R&B/pop rubbish.

Thank you. I worked on 150,000 ton tankers with 30,000 hp General Electric HP and LP steam turbines feeding into a single gearbox that got the job done. Its surprising what a single propeller can do.
