  • Dear friends,
Today, as you sit and reflect, you may feel a restlessness deep within-a yearning for a purpose greater than what your life currently holds. This longing is not by accident. It is placed within you by the loving hand of God, who desires to draw you closer to His heart and reveal the extraordinary purpose He has for your life.
Let us look to John the Baptist, a man who lived with an unwavering goal: to prepare the way for Jesus, the King. John’s life was marked by humility and repentance. He wasn’t concerned about his own glory but focused on pointing others to Christ. “He must increase, but I must decrease,” John declared (John 3:30). His words echo the heartbeat of our calling today-to clear the way so that Christ may reign in the hearts of all people.
John's greatness was found not in elevating himself but in dying to self. He led his own disciples to Jesus and called the people to turn from sin. His authority to call others to repentance came from the deep work God had done in his own life. He knew that before preparing the way for others, he first needed to confront the stones of sin in his own heart.
And isn’t that our story as well? Each of us carries burdens-stones of pride, fear, or bitterness-that block the way of Christ in our lives. Yet, when we come before God in repentance, He is faithful to forgive us and remove every obstacle. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Friends, this is the time to prepare the way for Jesus-not just in our own lives, but also in the lives of those around us. Every act of humility, every moment of repentance, becomes a beacon of light that draws others closer to Him. When we lay aside our own desires for recognition and instead seek to glorify Christ, His beauty and majesty shine through us.
Imagine the power of a community devoted to this calling. Each time we repent, we open a door for someone else to find freedom. Each time we die to self, we make space for Christ’s love to flood into our relationships. And each time we share the hope of the Gospel, we bring the joy and peace of His kingdom a little closer to the world around us.
This is the meaning we long for: to prepare the way for the King, to see His glory transform hearts, and to witness His redemption bring joy and peace. Let us pray together:
“Lord Jesus, let us prepare the way for You. Remove every stone of sin from our hearts. Help us to walk in humility, directing all eyes to You. Fill us with the courage to call others to repentance and the grace to love them as You do. May Your kingdom come in our hearts and in the hearts of those we meet. Amen.”
What could be a greater purpose than this? To see Jesus glorified, to see His joy and peace reign in our world, and to know that our lives have played a part in His eternal plan. The time is now. Let us prepare the way for the Lord.
    Amen.
