I just bought a package for $70 a day for our upcoming trip and at the $14 per drink price point if you average 6 drinks a day (not counting fresh juice, coffee, and bottled water) you make your monies worth. It feels weird to say you prepaid for so much alcohol but you know yourself and how you vacation. Also if you stop at an RC owned island you can use the package off the boat.

Basically you'll have to be a thirsty drinker and stay 'glazed' the entire trip to make it almost worth while. From a Canadian perspective, we were just on Wonder of the Seas, a 7-day day drink package was about $1550 CDN for two people when on sale with 35% off. We opted not to do the drink package and made every effort not to worry about the prices and probably drank more than we normally would (including non-alcoholic drinks as well). At the end of the trip, our total was $1289 CDN with gratuities - we averaged about 10 drinks each per day. We've only cruised on RC and have 7 trips under us...only bought the drink package twice and each of those times we never broke even. That all being said, it's a personal choice and subjective. PS: anyone under 45 will probably want the drink package 🤣
I purchased the refreshment package as well, I like having a drink here and there but I don't want to get sloshed. Has anyone seen the 10 drink punch card that they start selling a couple days into the cruise? I have seen people post about it a few times.
Hats off to you guys. That was hilarious and you did that just for us!!! So in a 7 day cruise I would suggest they would be carrying off in a coffin! Still 3 day binges over 7 days and you’d still come out on top
I considered getting a drink package during the Alaska cruise but decided against purchasing one. Part of the reason is the breweries at the stops, and there wasn't the urge to get wasted on board. I only spent $200 on drinks on the entire trip.
Love this, mission accomplished. We always got the package untill we turned diamond, because four free makes it much harder to reach 5/6 for the package to break even. People also forget that the package is valid on Coco Cay also

I think when people buy the package they drink more naturally because they can… if you don’t have the packaging you don’t drink as much because you don’t want to spend that much.. so you limit yourself to what you absolutely have to drink. I never get a drink package and I drink about 1-2 drinks a day.. most days I won’t even order any kind of drink.. I just drink whatever is complementary. I got a drink package on my next cruise coming up for the first time so of course i will take advantage of it. Lol but for those who is fine with the complementary options, the drink package isn’t worth it lol

Good info. I have done both. The drink package forced me to drink way more than anyone should and pretty much had me drunk, hung over and stomach on fire for 12 of the 7 days we were cruising. The other thing.....when in port the drinks not covered so that is an added expense. I wish I could drink myself stupid like most every one and have a fatty liver, need an intervention, and the nice yellow tint to my eyes.. Now, I just pay for the drinks which helps keep me upright and enjoy the scenery without the headache. Cheers. Yes, I am a wimp.

My wife and I get the drink package every time. It's a great way to try a multitude of drinks you wouldn't other wise order, or to replace drinks that have gotten warm in the hot sun (no one likes a warm beer, right??). We might order 25 drinks per day and actually drink 1/2 of them.
Couldn't agree more with you two. The drink package for us is the only way to go. If you ever want some cruise buddies, hit us up. We cruise a lot and we found that over time, cruising with friends is so much better.
Sadly Royals jiggers are only an ounce not an ounce and a half, like a normal shot, also they keep track , that is part of how they price the package, I love when people say, " try different drinks if you don't like it just throw it away" then in the next breath complain about the DBP prices, 17 drinks in one day in a normal bar setting is over a full 750ml bottle, there are 16 normal pours in a bottle
I would find more value in a full length cruise as opposed to one day, because that is what is really determining the worth. I agree that it's worth it in some aspects in that you don't have to worry about it. It's a toss up

I'm (our family) is NO where near drinkers even close to this. I always ask myself, are you buying the drink package then having to drink in excess to justify paying for the package...or are you really drinking that much. that break even point is usually around 6 drinks. Even one or 2 over that makes for savings during the entirety of the cruise. before bed is usually chugging water with hydration packs, and followed by more hydration packs in the morning. Thanks for watching!!
Me and my fiance are considering going on our honeymoon in October on the Harmony of the Seas leaving out of Galveston. How long was your cruise, ours will be 7 days. We're on the fence of getting the regular beverage package and just buying our drinks. Right now the drink package is at like 115 per day per person. This is our first cruise by ourselves, so we're confused on what to do!
If you get the refreshment package, nearly every alcoholic drink can be ordered dry under that package. We are in the same boat at 115 each day, and at 14+18% tip each drink it would take 5 alcoholic drinks each day, EACH, to break even (assuming you got the refreshment package at $32/day). The lowest discount we've seen so far is Bogo 1/2 off, making it 86.75/each. This would still make it take 3 alcohilic drinks each day to break even. Refeshment package is definitely the way to go for us. You are also allowed to bring on board one bottle of wine/champagne on boarding day if you'd like.
We we're on for 7 days, we got our money's worth every day... not like in this video though, some days were 8 or 9 drinks, which is still getting our money's worth

I always get the drink package for convenience and (most of the time) value. I drink more on a cruise than I do on land (I don’t have to be the designated driver! 😅) But I can never drink as much as you did on this day. To overindulge like you did, yeah the package was worth it. Did you drink like that everyday of your trip? How did you feel the next morning? 17 drinks in one day is crazy. You literally got your money’s worth with half of those drinks; there was no need to go overboard to prove the value point.
We do overindulge on vacation. not every day. But, like you said, more on a cruise than on land. At home we might drink 1 or 2 drinks a night. and sometimes not at all. But also like you just said, we're not driving!! lol

I hope y'all didn't have too much of a headache the next morning...😅 I've never drank that much on any of my sailing.. lol I be honest, you have to drink like a fish to make it worth it forcefully when you buy the package. 😅 Normal people drink 2-3 drinks per day, and it'll be good enough already. I’ve gotten the drink package on every rc ships I’ve been on and try to drink my worth I do not drink a lot ever but I’ve never been drunk or tipsy I think they are water down.

Thank you so much! Not 100% sure but I would guess purified. The water bottles seem to change as well. Example: The waters from our cruise out of Miami were different than the waters on our cruise out of Port Canaveral. It's part on what supplier can fill the huge order for them

Our next cruise is going to be on Symphony of the seas and we see that we have to buy a separate water package for Evian water which I think sucks.

@@jasonbrisco 153 drinks over 4 days. I carried a waterproof fanny-pack with 300 in ones and gave them a dollar or two with every drink so they would always be in the lookout for me, and I'd frequently have more than one at a time. Had an absolute blast and won the Sexiest Man Alive competition.
Funny Stuff. It looked like when you were calling it a night and stumbling back to your cabin you were loaded down with 3 or 4 water bottles apiece. Is this OK to do with the Drink Package, or was this a gift from the staff because you were hammered. :)
We accumulated them at the last bar. We ordered them with every drink. We do that normally so we have water to drink in our room at night. But, the bartender could give away water if they feel like you could really use it
They only showed one day, so they probably had less on most days. When we had the deluxe package we topped out with 3 or 4 alcoholic drinks a day with the rest in non alcoholic options.
We would either sneak on booze LOL, but that means going to your room to drink... or we would buy the cheapest wine by the bottle to save money that way. But we have NEVER cruised without a drink package. We are NOT 2 or 3 drinks a night kind of people lol 🥴
@BeachPlease the reason I'm asking is that it's worth it if you drink that much and if you would have bought that many drinks, but if you're only getting that many drinks to get your money's worth because you can, it's different. Kinda like going to an all you can eat buffet, if you go to a regular restaurant you might get an appetizer, your main dish and maybe a dessert, but and AYCE please you'll get a few plates and will get different desserts. You get what I'm saying?

Me and my fiance are considering going on our honeymoon in October on the Harmony of the Seas leaving out of Galveston. How long was your cruise, ours will be 7 days. We're on the fence of getting the regular beverage package and just buying our drinks. Right now the drink package is at like 115 per day per person. This is our first cruise by ourselves, so we're confused on what to do!
If you get the refreshment package, nearly every alcoholic drink can be ordered dry under that package. We are in the same boat at 115 each day, and at 14+18% tip each drink it would take 5 alcoholic drinks each day, EACH, to break even (assuming you got the refreshment package at $32/day). The lowest discount we've seen so far is Bogo 1/2 off, making it 86.75/each. This would still make it take 3 alcohilic drinks each day to break even. Refeshment package is definitely the way to go for us.
You are also allowed to bring on board one bottle of wine/champagne on boarding day if you'd like.
We we're on for 7 days, we got our money's worth every day... not like in this video though, some days were 8 or 9 drinks, which is still getting our money's worth

This was a great video! I am price watching for our next cruise! Today is the lowest I have seen it since I started watching at $1321 (for 2) for 7 day cruise, which is 30% off their current price. Has anyone within the past few months seen it go lower than that? I was wondering if I should hold out for Black Friday.

I always get the drink package for convenience and (most of the time) value. I drink more on a cruise than I do on land (I don’t have to be the designated driver! 😅) But I can never drink as much as you did on this day. To overindulge like you did, yeah the package was worth it. Did you drink like that everyday of your trip? How did you feel the next morning? 17 drinks in one day is crazy. You literally got your money’s worth with half of those drinks; there was no need to go overboard to prove the value point.
We do overindulge on vacation. not every day. But, like you said, more on a cruise than on land. At home we might drink 1 or 2 drinks a night. and sometimes not at all. But also like you just said, we're not driving!! lol
Man, oh my.... I hope y'all didn't have too much of a headache the next morning...😅 I've never drank that much on any of my sailing.. lol
I be honest, you have to drink like a fish to make it worth it forcefully when you buy the package. 😅 Normal people drink 2-3 drinks per day, and it'll be good enough already. But having the freedom to order anything at any time does feel good! 🙃
Didn’t seem like there were that many people on this cruise. The 80s party looked very sparsely attended, but it could have been camera angles.

I’ve gotten the drink package on every rc ships I’ve been on and try to drink my worth I do not drink a lot ever but I’ve never been drunk or tipsy I think they are water down.

Everyone asks this question lol it’s only worth it if you drink I would say 4+ a day. Me and my gf always get the drink package - particularly if we’re going to CocoCay or Labadee since you can use it there 😊

What kind of bottled water comes with the drink package? I know it’s not Evian… is it spring or purified water? I can’t seem to get an answer from Royal Caribbean . Love your videos!
Thank you so much! Not 100% sure but I would guess purified. The water bottles seem to change as well. Example: The waters from our cruise out of Miami were different than the waters on our cruise out of Port Canaveral. It's part on what supplier can fill the huge order for them
@@BeachPlease thank you for that information! We just went on Celebrity Beyond a few months ago and had the premium drink package. It included Evian and aqua panna water. Our next cruise is going to be on Symphony of the seas and we see that we have to buy a separate water package for Evian water which I think sucks.

@@jasonbrisco 153 drinks over 4 days. I carried a waterproof fanny-pack with 300 in ones and gave them a dollar or two with every drink so they would always be in the lookout for me, and I'd frequently have more than one at a time. Had an absolute blast and won the Sexiest Man Alive competition.
Funny Stuff. It looked like when you were calling it a night and stumbling back to your cabin you were loaded down with 3 or 4 water bottles apiece. Is this OK to do with the Drink Package, or was this a gift from the staff because you were hammered. :)
We accumulated them at the last bar. We ordered them with every drink. We do that normally so we have water to drink in our room at night. But, the bartender could give away water if they feel like you could really use it
My question is, if you didn't have the all you can drink package, and had to pay for each drink, would you have had the same amount of drinks? 🤔
They only showed one day, so they probably had less on most days.
When we had the deluxe package we topped out with 3 or 4 alcoholic drinks a day with the rest in non alcoholic options.

We would either sneak on booze LOL, but that means going to your room to drink... or we would buy the cheapest wine by the bottle to save money that way. But we have NEVER cruised without a drink package. We are NOT 2 or 3 drinks a night kind of people lol 🥴

@BeachPlease the reason I'm asking is that it's worth it if you drink that much and if you would have bought that many drinks, but if you're only getting that many drinks to get your money's worth because you can, it's different. Kinda like going to an all you can eat buffet, if you go to a regular restaurant you might get an appetizer, your main dish and maybe a dessert, but and AYCE please you'll get a few plates and will get different desserts. You get what I'm saying?
