Fishing Australia that is, European man, has increased the frequncey of blackwater. Prior to European arival, consistent buring of the landscape probably prevented the biuld up of toxic organic waste. Great segment though, enjoyed it, and sorry for the overly critical comment.
there are hatcheries that breed cod but I don't know if they distribute any for markets. it is legal to keep a cod, but it has to be over 60cm. they are a good eating fish but most people believe only cod from 60 to about 75cm are good eating, they tend to get fatty after that. but because these fish are so precious to a lot of anglers, most cod these days regardless of size are released to fight another day.
Its not a horrible thing to say. It wasn't keeping one for the table that was there demise. We have bag and size limits to let anglers enjoy a feed and still not impact the cod. Though saying that there awesome fish and a better feeling letting them go.
It would cost a mint, considering how much it is, how spread out it is, and how remote it is. Hauling the equipment, setting it up, maintaining it, the man power, the energy, it would be a ridiculously expensive venture. Not only that, but a lot of it is in such remote places that there's no way that it can all be found.
First time I’ve saw a Murray cod. Almost like a cross between a grouper, a cod, and a largemouth bass! So cool
You can blame irrigation, it has stuffed the Murray
DOC CORTEX Not this year mate. LOL The river is running a banker thanks to full lakes and decent floods. But every other year you are right. LOL
Fascinating & well presented. Beautiful fish & locations. ATB
I still cant believe theres a bag limit at all on an endangered species. Should be catch and release only!
Check ur facts mate, the listed conservation status is Least Concern, not endangered.

I think if there was a big 50kg cod every 100m as there should be the European carp would have not had the opportunity to establish.
Just super fishing!!!
awful thing to say but...what does the fish taste like. and is there a farm fish program?
MsTokies Murray cod is the nicest table fish of them all, however responsible harvesting is encouraged. (only take what you need and don't be greedy)

Is that the Narrandera aquarium cause if it is I've been there and that cod is huge he's name is Argo
I almost sure it'll taste like fish
Why don't they air rate the black water and stop it in its tracks can't be that hard solar system every where won't cost a mint and would save the Cod

Could be done with solar pretty easily now. Just tow out the solar/battery trailer and 100m of aeration hose. But it would get stolen pretty quick.
I cant believe on your trout video you said only a fish not even longer than your armspan is 25 pounds nowonder you turned off comments lmao
How water gets black? Factories pollution?
blacknwhiteking mj you dumbass
black water is when no oxygen is in the water any more ok leaves and trees fall into the rivers and take oxygen out of the water ok
