@@dantemadden1533 yes i knew they were but that size is amazing! They were like that all over in the olden days way before catch and release became so popular.
Cod fishing seems similar to North American Muskie fishing. Right down to the high effort/low numbers, and their tendency to follow baits to the boat. We never take our bait from the water unless we do a "figure 8" or "L-sweep" with the bait next to the boat. Sometimes for minutes to trigger a follower.
Mate that’s a bloody huge cod what state did you catch it in because I’m going fishing in a couple of weeks and I live on a farm in nsw Australia 🇦🇺 love your vids mate and I am 10 and my first cod I caught was when was 6 and it’s was 35kgs
Awesome fish man it ia so thrilling to watch those hugh murray cod smash the top waters also i am 12 turning 13 in a month and live in victoria I am more into bream fish and smaller fish like that but would love to catch a murray cod one day and i was also getting one to keep in my fish tank after sadly my silver perch Bob passed away and i would like to know if you got any tips to keeping one anyway keep up the amazing work.👍🎣🤙
this looks absoloutly incredible. how much does a fish like that weigh? a 120 cm northern pike would be like 15 kg, but this is just nuts. cheers from denmark
Gday Colby! Love ya vids mate, just getting i to this style of fishing, could you give me some advise on the best rod and reel combo to throw the ballaista tremors all day?
Common practice for most cod fishermen to release them, these big ones are breeders and we need them in a waterways. Smaller cod in the 55cm to 75cm range are kept for a feed by some.
this is somewhat like fishing for bass in the states....except the murray cod looks to be the size of a small tuna and appears to hit every bit as hard.
Im a new follower I like ya work ya mate I grew up on the cod it 100000000% teaches you how to fish in any water and 9 times out 10 cod and yellow belly fisherman out do all the sea fisherman
This fish, and this topwater action 🤤 simply EPIC! Cheers from Italy!

The biggest murray cod on record was 1.8 metres long and well over 100kg, I’m pretty sure they’re descended from Groupers
