Hey guys, it's Charlotte Dobre here, and in today's video, we're going to talk about people who are in denial. It's human nature to avoid facing difficult truths, but sometimes people take denial to a whole new level.
In this video, we'll explore some of the most shocking and entertaining examples of people who are in denial. From the person who insists they're not addicted to drugs, despite all evidence to the contrary, to the individual who refuses to accept that their partner is cheating on them, we'll see how people can create their own alternate realities to avoid facing the truth.
We'll also take a look at the psychology of denial, why people do it, and how it can negatively impact their lives and the lives of those around them. It's a fascinating and complex topic, and we'll explore it from all angles.
So, get ready to dive into the world of denial and prepare to be amazed. And as always, don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more videos like this one. Thanks for watching!

I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. At last job i worked at (mobile veterinary hospital that also had full building facilities in multiple locations for about 12 vets), here’s one of the worst stories:
There was one time a female techician was out on the road by themselves for the day doing technician services (nail trims, injections, cold lazer, suture removals, etc.) she legit disappeared for HOURS. Complete radio silence after going to one of her appts, and appts after that were calling wondering where she was, why shes late, and when to expect her. We had NO clue. Turns out that client was PISSED off that she was running late and making his wait. He decided that he was literally going to lock her in his house. He took her company phone. He also physically blocked the door. His wife was there too and she couldnt even talk him out. Hell, his KIDS were there and they couldnt do anything. You know what happened after?? They were allowed to stay as clients, but they were no longer allowed to have technician services at home (but a vet and their technician could…..) This dude should have been reported to the police. They should have been completely fired as clients. But no… he was fucking allowed to FALSELY IMPRISIONED and effectively KIDNAPPED A STAFF MEMBER, and he faced NO real consequences. It makes me wonder what he wouldve done if his wife and kids werent there.. the tech was terrified and utterly shaken after this-and this was a tech that grew up in a VERY dicey area of Philly, so shes seen some shit.
the owner (also the lead veterinarian) did NOT support people sticking up for themselves. “HR” was a complete joke and completely bowed to the owner. The whole office had a very culty feel to it. You often got texts from her when she wasnt even working and when you arent working telling you what you did “wrong” and what you need to do to fix it NOW when ever one of those pissy clients complained. Are you going to pay me to travel back to the office, or give me a phone so im not calling these assholes on my personal phone?? The running “joke” was that you had to “bend over and spread your cheeks” for clients. It was absolutely HORRENDOUS.it left several of us with ptsd, and many staff ended up choking back tears while having to deal with the screaming clients. I hung up on a client that was NOTORIOUS for having reallly reallly REALLY inappropriate and it was akin to sexual harrassnent. I was reprimanded for hanging up, after i told him SEVERAL times that it was inappropriate and unless he focused on his pet issues i would have to hang up as i have other clients that need my assistance for their pets. Like wtf? Horrible job, stayed for far too long because the pay, benefits, and vet care discounts for actually REALLY good. It was no where near as bad when i was primarily on a Theyve changed a few policies (like requiring deposits for chronic last-minute cancellors), so i hope it is better for the staff there now. I dont think so though.. they took the “customers are always right” to an outrageous degree. The turnover still looks to be very high and fast based on their website staff pages.
Oh, and once a coworker was sent a HUGE chain of texts from owner/“HR” while she was AT A FUNERAL for a close relative. They KNEW she was there, and exactly what time the service was. They intentionally bugged her about a problem that could’ve been addressed later in the day, or her next working. It was NOTHING that was urgent.
Its tough enough even when you have supportive managers.
My current vet keeps trying to get me to apply for a job at her office, but honestly, how do you explain why you havent been working in the field for over 4 years without completely trashing this last employer?

AND then proceeded to scold the club's lawyers for almost 20 mins about why the club never built a netting to prevent the balls from leaving the club grounds... apparently the judge also live next to a golf club on the other side of town, but that club had built netting to protect the houses that ringed the club's property... this was like 20+ years ago, but I remember it every time I see a house next to a golf club... such a simple solution to prevent soooo much legal fees...

    The family shoplifters....
They had the kid push the cart out because if they got caught the store is less likely to charge a 10 yr old kid. They'll take their stuff back and throw them out - exactly what the store did.

I went to this family restaurant on my first real paycheck after having been on Welfare as a Teen Mom.
I was super excited to have worked my way up the ladder & be able to eat like this on my own at an actual restaurant.
I ordered an Orange juice, which was a splurge item for this meal. I figured I'd enjoy the moment.
The glass was so tiny, it was less than a 8ounces of Orange juice and it was almost $4.

Most people don't understand it's not about being of age, but about being able to prove you are who you say you are.
I had so many unhappy customers until I pointed at the printout of the law that was on the counter - proof of ID. Not proof of age. I carded everyone. My cousin was shoplifting at Target, I was scared she was gonna get caught so I BEGGED her to put the stuff back. She went and “put it all back” and I felt like a physical weight left my shoulders. She was 16, I was 11, almost 12. We go to leave and she says, “oh shoot! I have to pee! Go ahead and get the movie tickets, here’s my purse, I’ll meet you in front of the theatre.”
I was still riding the high of relief, I hav been so anxious, but was worried she would tease me when I told her how nervous I was that she would be caught, so when she didn’t tease me and seemed to agree with no issue…. She had NEVER trusted me with our mall money. Looking back now, she used to “hold” my money and she would keep most of it, never letting me physically hold my own money, never mind holding hers! So not only did she NOT make fun of me and pooh pooh my concerns, she was even actually trusting me with such a responsibility! (I idolized her, unfortunately.)
As I’m walking out, a man grabs my arm. He forces me bodily into a room where he forced me to take off my clothing, stand topless without my bra in front of him while I cried and he stared, then felt me up and threatened me that if I told no one would believe me anyways and it would just make it worse for my case. He could have let me go after that. He had been following my cousin all over that store. He KNEW I didn’t steal the stuff in that purse. He was so confident I wouldn’t tell on him that he called the police anyways. I was arrested while he laughed at me.
My cousin had clocked him after she pretended to put it all back. Instead of just turning around and actually replacing the stuff, she wanted to keep it and hoped she was wrong and just being paranoid, so she used me as a sacrificial lamb. Clearly not caring if I got caught. I didn’t tell on her. I didn’t know she betrayed me at first because I was an idiot. I thought she just forgot some items and didn’t check that pocket. I was an idiot and I didn’t WANT to believe she had done that to me.
She told my whole family, while I was in the back being secksually abused by a Target asset protection employee behind a locked door, she told my whole family that I shoplifted, that she told me not to, but I didn’t listen, and now I was in the back, getting ready to go to jail. When the cops came they were AWFUL to me, likely because they were trying to “scare me straight” but they had no idea what had just happened to me, how I was victimized by that guy before they showed up. As they perp walked me out, my family was outside already, telling me how stupid I was for stealing.
I am a military veteran. I have two college degrees and a state professional license. I have never gotten a job in retail and never will, they can see that 20 year old arrest and won’t even call me back. Which is part of why I joined the Army in the first place. I was unhireable. It wasn’t until after I became so educated as to be able to apply for jobs where such a charge could be overlooked in favor of my qualifications that I ever even had a civilian job that wasn’t “under the table.”
That day changed the course of my entire life. I feel so bad for that little girl. Target ALWAYS presses charges, they don’t care if you are a literal child. I don’t know where this myth came from that a juvenile record is automatically expunged, but it is simply untrue in this day and age.
That little girl has NO IDEA how resounding the consequences from that day are going to be. The woman who pushed her to do that is awful for doing so.

Oh my God, the one about the front desk clerk at the hotel is giving me FLASHBACKS to when I worked front desk.
Okay, so there was this one time a woman came in, tried to check into a reservation that was under a completely different name than hers and when I let her know that I could not check her in for that reason, she told me that the reservation was under her boss’s name and he was on his way currently and that she was checking into their room early.
So weird explanation aside, I still couldn’t let her into the room because she wasn’t on the reservation. I let her know that her boss could add her to the reservation and I would be able to let her in but he had to be the one to do it. She kept saying, “Look, I understand that you have a policy and I appreciate you have that policy and that you’re upholding that because it’s your job. But you need to let me into my room.”
Woman, it is not your room. I don’t see your name on his reservation.
She argued with me and my supervisor for a half hour about this and was so loud, I had to ask her to lower her voice because I couldn’t hear my coworker who was standing 2 feet away from me.
Finally, she left the lobby and went outside and we thought that was the end of that.
    Oh how delusional I was.
We then got a call from a police dispatcher who called to let us know that they were aware of the situation because she called the cops on us and to let her know that they would not be sending a cop car because it was a civil dispute. She wasn’t in our lobby and we couldn’t find her in the parking lot so we assumed she’d left.
That still wasn’t the end of it.
Apparently, she called the cops so many times that they finally sent a police car. When the officer arrived, she was standing in front of the entrance to the hotel with all of her belongings on the ground. My supervisor went out to speak with her and the officer (her story had changed at this point. It was no longer her boss’s reservation, it was her boyfriend’s. 👀). After hearing my supervisor’s side of the story, the lady said, “Well, what am I supposed to do with all of my stuff??” (Broadly gestures to her items on the ground) to which the officer responded, “Ma’am, how did you get here?”
    She answered, “In my car.”
“Then I suggest you put your stuff back in your car, drive down the Dunkin’ Donuts down the street, get a coffee and wait for your boyfriend to arrive.”
She huffed off and we didn’t see her (or her boss/boyfriend) for the rest of the night. No one ever checked in to that room.

That is a terrible feeling, seeing flames under the hood!
I live in a rural area where we have these very destructive rodents called wood rats, AKA, "packrats". They will build nests inside engines and many of us have had engines catch fire because of the little jerks.
I always check under the hood before starting my car, but sometimes the sticks and brush were well hidden. One time, I smelled burning wood before I saw smoke, so I stopped my truck, grabbed the fire extinguisher and popped the hood. I was lucky and was able to throw the flaming rat nest on the ground and stomp it out before it did any damage.
I told some neighbors what happened while at one of our potlucks, and the old know-it-all woman who loves calling everyone else "stupid" told me that never happened to HER car, because she doesn't have rodents at her house!
Yep, a few weeks later, her car engine caught fire when she went to our central mailboxes, and since she didn't carry a fire extinguisher it was out of control by the time someone who did have one showed up.
Her car was totaled. The neighbors did a Go-Fund Me to help her get another car. I don't know how much she got, but I chipped in $20, and told her how to make a really good deterrent spray with peppermint oil, water, and a little dish detergent. Sure wish I'd known that trick earlier!

Lol she was calmer than I was when I found out I was having twins for my first pregnancy. My reaction was excuse me.. and then told my husband damn you. The doctor apologized because he thought he hurt me with the ultrasound wand. 😂

I once worked in a building that was next to a golf course. In the summer, people parked on the north side of the building because it was shady. But that's where the course was. There were at least a dozen cars with broken windows. I warned new hires not to park there. Nope. gotta learn the hard way. And neither the golf course nor the building owners would pay for the broken windows. "You knew the golf course was there when you parked your car." I always parked on the south side of the building, away from the course. Yeah, my car was hot, but I never had a broken window.

I feel so bad for the woman with twins - she is going to be overwhelmed by her 7th month before the twins are even born! But my new favorite is Ms Good Vibes! The shock and horror of the sudden betrayal of food quantity vs meal cost at "fancy" restaurants is so funny to watch, along with his gut splitting laugh

Charlotte, I just wanted to take a second to say how much I love and adore your videos. I will binge watch them for hours on a bad day. I recently had to quit teaching at my dream job do to some issues with my heart and now am currently not working though I'm looking for something remote. So on bad days when I get those emails or call backs about not getting the job I will jump onto TH-cam and watch your videos all day and just cry laughing. Your videos are so fun and make me laugh. Keep being petty! I love you.

Oh my friends, do not treat customers service workers in an ill manner. They actually have more power than one might think. This hotel dude. If the manager registers him, it will be the room facing a loud construction operation, or the room that just never can get heat, or the room pizza delivery will never find. Food CS=bodily fluids. You get the idea. And if you are dealing with delivery, you will get blacklisted, and you don’t want to know. Otoh, treat CS workers well, and all will go well, sometimes fabulously well.

Usually people just load up the cart and go out the door without listening to anything they say, or they use the emergency exits. An elderly couple ran into me a few months back while they were shopping and dashing. However, In time that Target tracks people's thieving and will wait until they hit $5000 across multiple videos and then catch them with a felony charge. So, people think they're getting away, but they just aren't big enough fish to fry just yet.

OMG the woman with twins was hilarious! Plus, since she's 5 months post partum the kids will be close in age. They call having 2 kids close together "Irish twins", I guess she's having Irish triplets! In HS I had friends that were fraternal twins, but looked identical. One brother wanted to go into the military but didn't get as good grades as his twin, so for the ASVAB test (military gets the results & recruits those who show high potential) they switched places! Their parents knew and approved it, and nobody found out, twin was happy & got what he hoped. I thought it was so funny because they were such good kids I didn't expect they'd do that.
