I used to run into Johnny all the time when I went to buy guitar strings at Edwin's Music on Broadway St. in Buffalo (♫♪Broadway is dark tonight♪♫ lol). This was back in the day when the Goos were a straight up punk band playing at the famous Continental Bar (now, sadly closed). It's kind of surreal seeing guys who used to sit in the music store jamming now are world renowned musicians. I'm extremely happy and proud that someone made it out of here.
Would’ve been better without the strings in my opinion but this is super rare!! This may have been the first performance ever and that’s a real treat to watch
Great song but in the chorus, something is going horribly wrong between the guitars and the strings in this live performance. They are so out of tune with each other; it sounds like someone has turned the kitchen sink garbage disposal on while the radio is playing.
The mixing for TV performances usually is quite off. Johnny's vocals are honestly a bit muffled and the strings are much more notable in this performance. Of course it is easier to control how loud the strings are when being played through one keyboard than micing up a 12 piece orchestra.
