      I’m not even a Giants fan but Buster Posey one of the most genuine players. The reason he didn’t check right away on the ump was because he lost the ball and play was still live
      Did you see the video of Bryce Harper getting intentionally hit by pitch and Buster Posey was the only one who didn’t jump into the brawl

    • @danielkoski5653
      @danielkoski5653 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mateohinojosa3025 I do remember that, the team at the time was going through a weird patch but still trying to contend, yet Strickland is out here continuing beefs that happened over two years prior. Posey didn’t join in because strickland told him to let Bryce charge if he does, so posey did. He also had that terrible leg injury that probably made him prone in situations like that, so it’s best for him to avoid any rapid physical altercations. The whole team kinda felt like hunter was being a clown, which made me feel bad for the dude, but it also makes you realize he made a whole clubhouse somewhat dislike him.

    I have umpired for the last 11 years, and I cannot even Imagine what that first hit feels like. Late 2019 I took a metal bat to the face on the wrap around from the batter. He lost grip and the bat shot straight into my mask. It's the hardest I've ever been struck.
    Thank goodness that pitch wasn't an inch or two lower, and snuck between the mask and the chest protector. It blows my mind that some of these MLB umps do not wear a throat protector. Nutty.

      That catcher might have been criminally liable. Pretty obvious when you watch the replay in normal speed. Slow it down and it shows a brand new little league player that never caught before getting behind the plate. Did they suspend the catcher for a month or so? They should have.

      I was a catcher (DII) and an umpire and both can be dangerous in their own right. I agree that players add trained to keep playing but I’ve never seen such disregard for another human being on the field.
      I know they got their signals crossed and Posey wasn’t expecting the pitch up there but he ducked....and when he saw the umpire face down, even after he had the ball and the play was dead, he didn’t even attempt to look like he was concerned. The pit acher and catcher are the only ones that know what pitches are coming and what spot they’re supposed to hit so after DUCKING and leaving the umpire motionless on the ground, I am just floored. Reminded me of when he stood by when a batter charged the mound, going after his pitcher. Watch Yadi Molina or Willson Contreras for examples of how to stand up for your teammates while still being compassionate for everyone out there while doing your job.
