    My dad has been riding for 30+ years wearing engineers & cross zips. All the old school guys still wear them pretty much exclusively

    Dunno how I came across your profile, I follow a few other heritage guys here, love the detailed info I get for a specific clothing, helped me by my vintage G1!
    but I have to say you probably are the best dressed heritage guy I have come across, usually that’s very unlikely, your fits are a source of inspiration imo

    Awesome video! Thank you for sharing your collection and explaining the different styles. I got a couple of leather jackets from Schott mainly their shinki leather version of the cafe racer and mc jacket. Really like them, also got some leathers from Y2leather. Fell in love with their mutton leather jacket and then started buying more leather from them. What do you think of Y2leather?

    every video of yours,, my eyes can't help but dart to the sixth pair of boots from left to right..
    your Role Clubs.., i love that the shaft height is just a little shorter than most engineers..
    that's probably my grail pair of engineers.. love the roll top two tone aspect..
    thanks for the video

    That vintage Sears Topline aviator looks badass! I’d really like a repro just like that but with 100% cotton lining in the body and sleeves. Also cool to hear my name from the namesake movie, Shane hahah!

    Wow, that was good. Lots of great info. I picked up a fantastic wool and leather jacket in Dallas at a flea market in 1980. Wore it completely out, I loved that jacket. Also got a great old letterman’s jacket that i still have but very seldom wear. 15 bucks for both of them.

    Do you find that tan or light brown jackets keep you cooler in warmer months? Also do you feel lined or unlined is good for cool summer days. Id like a warm weather leather jacket.

    Hey man great video, I currently have Rainbow country Horsehide down vest, a Chicago (straight zip jacket) on order from field jacket.
    I am looking for a winter leather jacket, what would you recommend? Car coat or B3 or G1? I really liked your freewheelers car coat.

    • @stevenkoppelkam643
      @stevenkoppelkam643 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Personally i prefer the B6 because its slightly thinner and more simplified, but to each their own

      G-1 is not a winter jacket since it's only lined in rayon, not any warmer than any equivalent A-2 jacket. Depends on your climate though, but it's not even in the same league as a B-3 jacket.

  • @kingofthekludge
    @kingofthekludge 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    Nope, the B3s were the high altitude flight jackets - nothing to do with seasons. At 30k+ feet of altitude in non pressurized cabins at -50C, crew had to wear sheepskin jackets, pants, hats, gloves, etc.

    I recently got a great deal on a Hercules civilian A-2. Very underrated quality and style for the price in my opinion.

    Leather blazers can be good if you get the right fit and leather. Goatskin or calfskin is ideal for the blazer style. The handkerchief pocket isn’t needed either.

    Obviously there's three MAIN categories now, the motorcycle, the aviator [FLIGHT] and the Fashion Style that mostly evolved from motorcycle? Is moto still the most popular overall? [e'en moreso than Fashion likely]

      I saw a Western Style one recently that might be up my alley since it's neigh the usual China pig leather, but I don't wanna shell out right now when I have a bunch other ones. I had an Orvis one with quilted shooting patches and such that would have been awesome if it was better toughness leather and available in larger size at the time but didn't end up w' their Spirit flight jacket. The vest was better value for price, blah, blah.

      Y-Tube flips the vid posts but neigh the Live Feed or something. Constantly throwing me off when treating screen like mirror and pointing wrong way and moving opposite direction intended, etc.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I wanted one o' the Schott brown cross-zip ones, but the sleeves run WAY TOO LONG. Vanson doesn't seem t' have much in brown, but they have versions w' more zippers and things. I called other company t' see about modifications, but they only want to make me a new custom one, so maybe someday I'll look into them again.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think a lot of NON flight jackies get CALLED "Bomber"; like especially anything canvas w' hand-warm pockets and such.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I wouldn't say I'm obsessed w' A-2, but the accurate Indy ones cost more than I wanna spend and only cosplayers worry about all them little details BUT, like the Orvis one and some others, I would still PREFER some of those details.

    That Vanson C2 looks really sick on you. All other jackets will dry up with envy. Make sure to moisturize them. My Vanson Cobra has half a million motorcycle miles on it, but it never looked this good.

    It's pretty funny how far out of your way you go to avoid giving Schott ANY credit. You could just say they helped make it popular and are the only heritage brand around now who made them back then. But you go through this whole weird essay on why they didn't do anything important lmao.

    • @almostvintagestyle
      @almostvintagestyle  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

      I talk about that in my video with Leather Jacket Jawn. I just push back because they are given credit that they don't deserve. They also claim credit for jackets they didn't make, which is totally messed up of them to do. But I have given them credit for things they do deserve it for, such as making Beck jackets which is really cool.

    Why do you say double rider is a bad term when it's a double breasted riding jacket? Pretty obviously a good term
