Thank you for watching! Watch the entire LIVE renovation 👉🏼th-cam.com/play/PL34cQkzKfXWZJD4KvMVc1JCXrwMr15KNF.html We're having a ton of fun renovating this house, full episodes coming to the channel soon.
That was awesome to watch. Really enjoy seeing the whole process. Especially how you work through situations that arise along the way. I like seeing the thought process in real time. Another great video.
Thank you for letting us watch and be a part of your forever home. Can't wait to see more of what you do. I myself enjoy watching the real time trials and tribulations that happen to everyone and how to overcome them.
Finally finished watching all six videos. Very interesting renovation process. Really like your teaching style and taking your time to explain certain techniques to the viewers. The way you periodically pause what you're doing and answer questions in the chat is awesome.
I do floorplan drawings for modular buildings. I really appreciate you explaining your thought process and all the things to consider with every "little" change. It's a challenge I encounter every day.
As far as attaching drywall directly onto the trusses . This is totally fine to do. You must secure the trusses before hand with lateral bracing to make sure they don’t move around like Jeff showed in the stream. Lateral bracing will attach to the top side of the bottom cord of truss in the attic. Cheers!
a good solusion in my opinion is to install a barn door at the water closet ?? thank you .. i am watching your videos for years know and make me a better carpenter than I use to thank you again....!!!
Straight DIY and the breakdown no diy discouragement are diy mislead the real deal full videos I watch a lot of your videos I normally don't reply respond but giving credit shout to you Home RenoVisiion DUY cool love the jokes I Love watching full videos DIY
If you 2×4 your trusses on the top of your trusses instead of the bottom on 16 in centers you are blowing in insulation anyways so drywall is very good to install on your trusses and it will not Crack.
Jeff, I’m not sure why considering you remove the ceiling. You didn’t add the typical bracing to the trusses to keep them in alignment during your activities as I’m sure you know the typical scenario is a fully attached ceiling or a framing member from end to end at approximately 10 foot Spacing, which would probably be near the V section of the truss that way you don’t have things moving around until you reapply the ceiling?
Thanks again for all the valuable info. Just a thought, when you were talking about the toilet room, are you considering aging in place? Room to use a walker? Cheers! Love your videos!
Is there a code that says the door must open inwards? In Sweden the doors often open outwards, even the front door. Wouldn’t that solve the problem? Great videos, I learned a lot! Cheers from Malmö, Sweden
Yes, it's a fire code violation, the door can't open in a way which obstructs egress. For example, if your bathroom door opens outwards, and I'm trying to escape through the hallway, you've blocked my path. I do it in rentals to save space sometimes though, if it's a half bath in an open living room it's not really "blocking" the path the way an upstairs bathroom with a 30" hall would
@@chriscolameco6850 ok, that explains why Jeff didn’t mention that as an option. Here, doors at public buildings must open outwards due to the same reason, easier to evacuate in case of a fire. But thanks for the answer!
At the end of this episode, you attached to the outside wall that was between wall studs. Shouldn’t the wall braces supposed the attached flat so the spray insulation could go behind the braces increasing the “R” value ?
2:01:31 - It was at this moment that I made a mistake on my basement remodel. I forgot to deduct the 1.5” bottom plate from my jack studs. It made for some rework hanging drywall because I didn’t realize it until that stage of the process. I kicked myself a lot for the oversight.
Hey! I love how you do and teach! Do you want to come over and transform my crawl space into a fully functional living and storage space? There are NONE good DYI videos about that.
Why shim the wall level to a roof truss that has no perpendicular strong backs/bridging to the other roof trusses and no way to ensure things are in plane and straight? This is perfect example of when a laser is very useful and makes quick work and results are idiot proof. We would typically block between trusses for our wall to land on and secure too. Way less chance for lateral movement on that wall overtime.
Hi Jane. we did a market test with 6 live shows this year all while filming the new renovations. The videos will be coming out starting in December after the shed series is done. We are planning to do a live show in the spring every week now that we have seen the long term success of them and we also now have the ability to upload in 4k so it will be a much better production. Thanks for your concern but we are doing fine and have a great series of videos coming this winter. see you in the live shows in the spring. Cheers!

I was hooked when I watch you build a backyard shed by yourself. You are the best at explaining and sharing your craftsmanship.
Jeff's personality helps me relax when I attempt a home reno job that I have no business doing.
This is so impressive! Watching the process of each room coming together is so satisfying. Amazing work

Educational and Inspiring... THANK YOU!
The exit stage left was stellar.

This is priceless! Thanx
Thanks for the great video!
Glad you like it! The new series starts in a few weeks. We’re kicking it off with my new shed build on October 26

Lol "No law against stupid" (before building code) that needs to be on a mug or t-shirt!😂
I would buy those😂👍

More of a 25 year plan at this point. When i get that old you will find me in a house with no stairs. Cheers!
Jeff, great show. Have you considered wheelchair accessibility?
Install a folding door for the water closet
A Lutron Caseta smart switch remote would solve your pocket door problem. A little expensive but they are awesome and can solve many problems.
Jeff, do you need to get the framing inspected by the City building inspector before you sheet the framing? Cheers

You should do a “solutions to common framing problems” episode at some point like your drywall one
Great idea. Cheers

Check those four bracing points for the bathroom wall! I don't think you got them installed on the flat as you asked for to prevent thermal bridging.
Cheers Cory. these type of things happen when doing it live. Nice catch!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY they absolutely do! Fortunately they are easy to fix before the foam goes in!
Are there any more live videos for your forever home after this one? Ive been checking weekly.
we did those as a test. going to go weekly in the spring. There will be a huge announcement before we start! Cheers!
great work, when will there be new series?

Maybe some day. for now I will keep my litigation exposure quite tight. Thanks. Cheers!
What "litigation exposure," for messing with foundation?
bi-fold door?
Is your hard hat still zip tied or did you get a new one.... great content , thanks for the entertainment and knowledge.
still zip tied. Cheers!
What about using a 24 inch door for the toilet room?
gonna check with my designer. I think that sounds like a reasonable solution. Cheers!
Or a pocket door?
A concertina door on the toilet in the ensuite.
A 3D plan would be interesting. I don't know the cost.
for a generic walk trough a few hundred bucks. Cheers!
for a detailed plan with actual fixture selections. much much more. Cheers!

Jeff still has the energy of a squirrel into his old age.
LOL, dude I am only 53! Cheers!
Help you buy a new window.
The solution is obviously to always use the bathroom with the door open.
Nice!
hello
Why don’t you mark the floor, the finish measurements and then subtract your framing measurements.
Why dont you put your vaper barrer on the ceiling then put your forenzs and then do the division ? Your trust shouldnt move after the forensz
You can find a 23 in toilet with 10 in to center
Cheers!
One thing I thought I would never hear Jeff say on a live stream, "I almost lost a nipple!!"
Why didn't you tape out your floor plan and see what it looks like before you started cutting wood.
Hes the "fake it till you make it" type lol
The camera men does not zoom in good
I appreciate the constructive criticism. Cheers!
I am Tanzanian, I want to learn from you, I am very sorry
When you have a medical emergency in your bathroom and your on the floor ! Now what your wife going to beat the door in😮
