I used to live on Gurnee ave and graduated from NRHS in 1990. I haven't been back for almost 30 years. I miss it so much! When I was a kid I mistakenly used to call Haverstraw, take a straw.
Have not been back to this village since 1988. Used to live in Nyack. Great rivalry beck then,in the 60';s and 70's.even the 50's. Village looks so nice.WOW, I was a merchant mariner working on the Hudson and we almost moved to Haverstraw in 1987. Had a lease with option on a townhouse 2 floors, huge front porch, residential street fairly high up above village but still in it. River side of 9 w.Got a better paying job in Jersey, down the shore, but later went back to working in N.Y.Harbor. Should have stayed on the Hudson.
@@heru-deshet359 Retired. have my own business now. Rockland County used to be a great place to live, still had some rural places. Rode horses there. Nyack Haverstraw football rivalry was the best.
Valley is the M.O.A.D. Suffern crowded but still nice,Pearl River too. Nyack is over run with 25 year old drunk never done a dam thing empty souls.@@RazPerignon

Never too late to go back, especially if you're close to retirement.
