what surprises me if that out of all the different AC gens, the third one seems to be the only one without any recognizable spiritual succesor, most devs usually take AC4 or AC5 as the main bp for inspiritation, probably the lack of quickboosting on third gen may be the responsible.
Quickboosting has definitely became vital in the fast-paced mecha genre. Only in relatively slow (not an offense) _mech_ games like MechWarrior where time & positioning have heavier emphasis that they don't have quickboosts.
