  • I made this video to help anyone who has the 49mm Showa forks (2017-19 crfs & 2019 kx450) showing you how to replace the fork seals and service your forks. These SKF seals are the absolute best. Yes they cost more, but they will last forever speaking from experience.
    Special Tools:
    Cartridge rod holder
    Fork cap wrench
    49mm Seal bullet
    Torque wrench
    If you have any questions drop them in the comments below! We will get back to the CR250 supermoto in the coming videos!

    great video but at 8:18 the small bushing you thought was showing wear was probably not damaged, the teflon coating is on the inside of that one, you were looking and pointing to the outside that seats in the lower part of the outer tube.

    Awesome video thanks, just did mine last night. Seals weren't leaking but all oil and parts had 40hrs of racing and riding on them and man, that oil was black! I swear getting that stupid D - shaped push rod out took me longer than the actual service, lol. Any trick to getting it out? Other than that love these forks. SO glad Honda woke up and came out with a spring fork that is easy to work on, easy to tune and works great.

    • @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ
      @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome man! Yes I know a trick, I always use the little tip on the rebound adjuster lock nut to stick into the rod, and once it goes into the rod I Pinch the rod and pull it out with the lock nut rebound adjuster. I really hope that made sense, I believe I did it in the video too. THESE FORKS are awesome I totally agree. 40 hrs I bet that oil was so dirty!! Haha props to you.

    I know you did this video a year ago, I'm wondering if you have the part numbers for the seals and wipers, I'm having a hard time tracking down the correct parts, I think I find them but then other sites will say they dont fit the 2018 crf450r.

    • @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ
      @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      they are the 49mm seals that is the diameter. I bought these from Motosport.com they have them for the 18' crf450r on there just select the bike and they will be there. I am sorry I don't have the parts numbers but this is how I found mine.

      @@FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ
      Start with the clip-on second to top. You can just rev the bike up on the stand. Then you could turn the carburetor sideways so you can pull the slide back out then put the clip on the top. And you'll see the throttle response from just both positions. I can't remember what mange at you said you had in it a 390 or a 400 ?
      I really like how you do your videos how you explain everything very smart very intelligent. Keep the good work up

    • @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ
      @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      250race It has a 400 in it right now, will probably go to a 390-380 in summer. I will definitely be doing rev comparison between the s-9, s-8, s-7 and then the 82 needle second from top and maybe even first from top. I will ride the bike with the setup now, then with the s-7 82 setup for overall change.
      I really appreciate the kind words, I try to take a lot of pride in my work/videos and also to be informative (and hopefully correct) giving others good tips. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me as well! I can’t wait to see how much more my bike can rip...

      If you are going to do the Emulsion tubes starting with the 9,8,7 but
      Start with the 82 needle clip sec from top. Don't mess with the stock needle.
      Then after you have the #7. Put your clip on the top. Throttle response will be way better

    • @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ
      @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @adamsnider1528
    @adamsnider1528 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    the small bushings you are saying are all worn, you are looking at the outside which doesn't move, the inside surface on that bushing is the one thats in contact with your fork inner tube, if you're going to show a video just try not to give false info to anyone still learning. Use a shop manual

    • @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ
      @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was obviously still learning myself and did use a shop manual. If anything I did something extra I didn’t need too. Someone else pointed out the same thing already, but in a much more respectful way. Calm down Adam. It’s a youtube video.

    • @adamsnider1528
      @adamsnider1528 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are going to replace bushing s replace both. I'm just sharing my knowledge. If you don't know what your doing just don't tell everyone else how. Sorry for any disrespect I've just seen too many forks done wrong. I think you've done a fine job and I had not noticed someone pointed it out.

    • @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ
      @FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adam Snider thanks for the reply, I will say I did everything correct and the forks work better than ever and still holding up great. I simply misspoke for the bushing inspection. Nobody will cause themselves any harm if they replace the bushings early. 👍🏼

    • @adamsnider1528
      @adamsnider1528 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ I will say I giggled when I saw you get the splash of oil when you compressed the piston assembly. Also watch out for Aftermarket bushings, I have seen where even fully compressed they are too big and guys will force them and cause serious damage. Always use the right parts and as you did, OEM is always a safe bet.
